Hunted lots of black bears in Southeast Alaska as am born in Anchorage. The biggest squared 6'11-1/2. Somewhat hard to tell but that bear looks to me to be about 6'0 squared. Notice his ears look large meaning his skull is not that big which is a sign of a smaller bear. Also he doesn't look like his belly drags the ground as much as a real big one would. Six foot squared is still considered trophy size but for whatever it's worth I would have also passed on him. Would've liked to see the one that came in at dark. It is, however, a little tough to tell as he is walking away most of time. Greg Svendsen Email gsvendsen@gci.net

that looked like a good eater. but it wasn't a gaint, like greg said he had big ears and his belly was to far from the ground. wait untill you see a 500 lb mn gaint walk into your bait that will make your heart pound like you wouldn't believe.

i agree with manyarrows. my personal best was a 453lb (dressed wt) true cinnamon color phase. it was the second bear of my life. i have been hunting bears for 16 years now and havent even seen another that came close.
