Welcome kvogel3 about 2 weeks ago kvogel3crop farming has become a big thing where i live and the more farmers go that route the less we see or hear bobwhites pheasants less deer. there are wild turkeys a 1/2 mile in all direction but not here becouse the farmer has taken out all the fence lines and some of the woods to get a few more bushels off the land. the farmer smiles when you ask if its really necesary and he smiles and tells you no but he was just tired of picking up fallen branches and that he dosn't need the extra money but it will increase the value of the land for builders. growing up here we farmed and my father worked around fox dens left fence lines and the occasional tree in the middle of the fields. i guess the those days are gone. the standing now is the less wild life the better the bottom line and thats all that matters. my view on that is that really sucks. I didnt leave my home it left me.

 | afrazier2 I have a small rant in regards to a letter in the Member sound off section of April/May 2012 issue. I was the one that wrote the letter title "where are we going". my letter was published completely out of context. They left out the main two paragraphs of the letter. I never mentioned anything about cross bows and the point of my letter was the new Game Checking System. I never mentioned on type of weapon over another. The whole point of the "open what ever you want to use season" was in reference to the game checking system, NOT what type of bow you use. I am a bit upset that they COMPLETELY left out the point of the letter and changed it as if I was ranting about something completely different. Their response dosen't even come close to answering the question I WAS ASKING. They took some MAJOR journalistic freedom in publishing my letter. about 2 months ago | | |

 | jmurphy28 is there a time of day or even a certain day of the week that would work to have the members all get together and chat instead of waiting to see if anyone is going to comment? I think we could get more members and more response if we had more set times to all try getting on the site together. about 3 months ago | | |

 | jmurphy28 The wolf that was shot and killed in the Detroit Lakes area of Minnesota that weighed 285 lbs was on facebook and I posted the photo here to ask if you know anything about the photo. Facebook went nuts with it has to photo shop and then started the oh why did you have to kill it crap. Would they want to run into this guy if they didn't have a gun? Talk about the big bad wolf! The usual "leave the animals alone crap, wolves don't bother humans, etc. The size of this guy said he was certainly eating well. about 3 months ago | | |
