I have been reloading for 35 years and I think it"s time for a progressive or turret press. Should I stick with RCBS or lyman or has Lee moved up in the world?

The Dillon Progressive is looking like a dream at $450 but after I added all the accessories to make it truly functional, I was up to $710 including shipping and was told by a rep at Hogdon that the new smaller formulated extruded powders still will not perfectly flow thru the powder measure.  Each load has to be checked as they are usually a little light unless you are using ball or spherical powder.

I decided to just go with a Lee single stage for a lot less $$

Lee turret has worked well for me.

My Buddy used Lee's and had numerous of them and liked them, and when he died suddenly, I bought 3 of them from the estate auction, but have not used them. His were set up for .45, .38 and can't remember the third one I bought..

I use the new Hornady Lock N Load AP press and i Like it. No real problems so far and I've been using it about a year now. The quick change bushings make it real easy to change between calibers.

Been using a Lyman T Mag2 turret press for several years now, never had a problem. A buddy also has used 1 for several years. Not saying 1 is any better or worse than another, just stating my experience.

I have been using a lyman turret press for the past ten years and love it. I can load a couple boxes of ammo an hour and have expedited the process to my satisfaction. If I were loading alot of handgun ammo, thousands of rounds, I would probably step up to a progressive press.

I have a Dillon 550B and it meets my needs. Dillons are excellent for loading handgun and small caliber rifle (222, 223, 22-250, etc) but am not impressed when going to larger rifle calibers like 338/300 RUM. I believe that the Hornady LNL is a much better press. I own a Hornady progressive press that was made prior to the LNL and a LEE 1000 but I do not use them anymore. I do most of my rifle loading on a Forester Co-Ax.
