Mine ended with seeing the biggest buck of the season, only the problem was it was on my way from not seeing anything. I saw two monday morning, but they came through too fast without me getting a shot and Tuesday morning didn't see anything. Guess I should have just stayed at work, but Tuesday was my sons birthday so we took him to the zoo and I wouldn't have traded that for anything else. Season ended with only one confirmed kill so that kind of sucked. If I get the chance I'm gonna go down to Hattiesburg to hunt with a guy I work with. How'd ya'lls turn out?

Missed a good 8 during bowseason, but got him chasing a doe  later during 2nd week rifle season same stand in TX Hill Country lease, then took a really nice 8 first week of rifle season at home in North East Texas first time on new stand. I let fellow lease members hunt thier kids on same stand and they took two does and a really good 10 from same stand. Went back to Hill Country in December took a nice doe. Tried to take another doe back home during end of season blackpowder but my hot stand went cold. Was another great deer season now excited about spring turkey, shed hunting, hog hunting...and cant wait till next October bow season to roll around!
Our methods and weapons of choice may vary but we all have the heart of a hunter in common.

At least somebody had a good season. I'm looking foward to NEXT bow season as well. This year I'm going to do a lot more preperation and plant a food plot this spring to keep them coming in all year. I'm going to hit the bow stand a lot harder next season before all the pressure makes it out to the small plot of land I hunt on.

During the last 5 minutes of season, with my 5 y/o son sitting in the stand with me, I put deer # 6 on the ground. It was a great way to end the season!

Good deal, I think I'm definitely going down to Hattiesburg, I just can't resist taking one more trip while I still can.

Well I took your advice and went for it. I saw a total of 16 deer and 13 turkeys, but not the first legal buck that I wanted to shoot. It was still a real fun hunt though as I saw the most deer and turkey I've ever seen in one sitting.

That's true, but it was legal bucks only at the last part of the year down there.

Yeah, I know, but I heard they're extending the season next year until Feb. 15 for all areas. I hope that's true and it goes through. Especially if they'd make it bow only, even though it would piss off some gun hunters it would really bring the pressure down and the deer would be moving like crazy.
