Its all gonna come to an end in 2015 anyway lol Not the end of the world but the technology in compound bows. Matt has stated that the 2015 bow would be the last bow to break through and nothing more can be done to pick up speed or accuracy |

I.....You don't need to be blind folded to make a rational decision? I was in a Gander Mountain a few years back and just for fun picked up a mission model (not sure what it was) but it was 60 pounds and pulled back smooth with a solid back and I told my wife "Dang , this bow feels really nice!" I have a PSE, a Bowtech and a Hoyt, love them all. What works for you today may not work for you 5 or10 years from now? I don't follow name brands, just like to shoot. All I'm saying is everyone keep an open mind? You aren' fooling anybody but yourself? |

Mathews warrenty is a joke also.
I got a Drenilan 6 years ago and split a limb this fall.
I took it in to get repaired in Nov and finally got it back at the end of Jan with a bill for 235.00 for new limbs.
Lifetime warrenty--------Not likley
Needless to say Mathews is not on my list as a good choice anymore. |

Well, as long as you're the original owner of the bow, it's a lifetime warranty...so they say. |

I have a Mathews DXT now but when I in the market for a new bow I went to the bow shop to shoot a bunch of different bows. I was looking at the Hoyts since I owned a Hoty Powertec at the time and really like it. I shot the Hoyts and they were nice but figured since I was there I would shoot them all! I wound up shooting the Mathews Z7, Hoyt Maxxis and since the DXT was left over from the year before (and on sale) I figured what the heck I'll shoot that one too. They were all good shooters but I actually liked the way the Mathews bows shot better. It was such a close decision that I shot the bows with my eyes closed at close range to the target to feel how they felt. I chose the DXT. Not because of advertising or public opinion but because when I shot it, I fell in love with it. |

Mathews is a great bow company. They are quiet and they shoot straight. A friend of mine said he was going to come up with a bumper stiker that said " Some voted for Mathews and the rest voted for Obama!" |

My decision? The closest bow dealers to me are High Country and Mathews. If I need to get one worked one, I don't have to drive a long distance. I like them both, and have had both, but I chose Mathews simply because of the price difference. The Mathews Z7 (fully hunt ready) was cheaper by about a $350 compared to the HCA Iron Mace. |

for me, it's all about personal preference. if you like matthews then buy one. myself, i've never even shot one. one look at the price tag tells me to just walk away. there's no way i'm going to spend more on a bow that'll just get replaced in a few years, than i would on a good hunting rifle that'll never wear out. heck, i've got a hunting rifle that was made in 1942 and is still a tack driver. let's see what kind of shape your z7 will be in in 70 years. 10 yrs and the cams are wore out or, they're just plain out of date. not to mention, why on earth would i want to pay for all of the bows that they just give away. someone has to pay for lee and tiffany's new bows, and the ones they give to all of their friends that hunt with them so they dont get filmed using a diamond or a martin or a parker. but hey, if you have the means to purchase one, go right ahead. lee and tiff need new bows for the upcomming season. |

Here is the real deal---I mhave been inmarketing most of my adult life------Matthews spends the most on advertising, They also do a good job with the advertising message----BUT--Who pays for all this advertising ????? Matthews bow owners !! THATS WHO ! Nice highly overpriced bows ! |

Give me a show, a bow, and all the equipment Lee and Tiff get and I will, never mind if I don't like somthing I say it so I would not make a good spokes person. |

Wow Hatfield, I said that and got blasted lol . It's a good product but the people who buy them are paying that ad budget. My advice to all the compound shooters is pick up a recurve or longbow and experience the fun and pleasure that archery is all about. NOW, before all you girls start yellin at me all I am saying is that with a trad set up you realize that archery isn't shooting quarter size groups everytime you are at the range. You think you get a rush taking an animal with a compound, try a recurve or longbow. It truely is taking the pepsi challenge, and takes alot of skill to hit what your shooting at. Again save all the ranting and raving I don't want to hear it, I am just stating a fact so don't get your undies in a bunch. Go out and pick up a nice old bear recurve for 100 bucks and tell me if it isn't more fun to shoot then using a compound. |

Drink the koolaid. Most mathews haters hate because its popular to do so. Its not based on anything factual. Usually ignorance, i own hoyt and mathews. Have owned about e everything excluding bowtech. I do all my own work, my bows never see a proshop after they are bought. Every bit of work is done in my press on my bench. Once you work on your own stuff you can see the differenc. There is a darn good reason why hoyt and mathews fill my closet while the others no longer do. Like i said drink the koolaid. These threads come up about twice a year and its always the same garbage. "they are loud and overpriced". Or. "All mathews has is marketing". They have a pretty damn good bow is what they have. Any bow which is out of spec and shooting bare minimum weight arrows will be loud. Most of these guys making. snide remarks don't even realize bows need to be tuned a few times a year. They buy a bow and shoot it for 3 years and never once change strings and cables let alone spec tune them. They have to have a 19 year old kid tell them what arrows to shoot. Its a good laugh though. Keep it up haters. What else makes mathews suck? Do you have something original. Or just another. " my buddy has a mathews and _____"? Because most of these guys have never owned one. |

never have, and never will. why spend a grand on a bow (just the bow!) when i can spend 500 and it kills a deer just as dead as a mathews, or a hoyt, or any other over priced bow for that matter? |

This is why I wait a few years and buy that barely used bow for half the price. Someone is always wanting the next best thing and let their bows go for a great price. I bought a fully set up 2010 Hoyt Katera with a quad ultra rest for $500, it is like brand new! I love that bow! Would I pay full retail for it? NO WAY I....2links is entitled his opinion and based on experience, stop pushing buttons, you seem to do a lot of that and will eventually become shunned by club members? |

As hatfield hunter said their marketing adds to the price of their bows. They wouldn't be able to get those prices without a quality product to go along with it though. Even on ebay the used Mathews sell for more than the other brands so I guess they wouldn't be a bad investment. As for myself I can't even afford the used Mathews but my used PSE's haven't let me down even after dropping them out of my tree stand, pretty tuff bow. |

why are mathews owners soooooooooooooooo sensitive? I never said that mathews were bad bows, they are just over priced imo, and when compared to others they all seem pretty even. Don't be ashamed of over paying be proud and don't get so angry when some makes a comment or gives an opinion. It is what it is. |
