I have a Fred Bear Element now and I would like a new bow without spending a lot.  I was wondering if the Bear Encounter is the same thing or if it is in fact better than the Element?

The differance I see in the Element it does not have a string stop, the Enounter has one. I have a bear strike it has double string stops. I like the way it shoots, easy draw and hold, and quite. There are a lot of good bows out there though, at a good price. If you haven't tried some of them you might give a few differant brands a try see what you like, at a price you like.

I got a bear assault last fall and absolutely love it. RTH package was like 545. Wouldnt get anything else.
