Was a tough season, Elk were holding real high and not moving much. We got into them a couple of times, all the elk seen in camp were bulls. First time that has ever happen to me. Did't see a single cow? We were huntin in a any elk area with general tags here in WY. Me, three other NAHC Members, and my son. All from Washington, cept me. Only two of our five hunters took home Elk. But both of those sucsessful hunters took home good bulls! Sharing camp and hunting, with these good friends & family, truly made for a great 2011 Elk camp!!! Congrats to luvtohnt and Elkhunter78 on there hunting skills and the fine Elk taken during our 2011 hunt! Here's a pic of the bulls and happy hunters that luvtohnt added to the Washinton forum! Dang, that's a good lookin wall tent ! Opps! Nice set of horns buddies!!! Thanks for sharin my Elk camp!!! Was good hunting with ya! Dean H2O Elkaholic |

Glad to see these H2O! This year was a bit different for most in our camp. As you and I discussed once before, I was able to use the patern that I found last year and scored my cow. The others in camp believe me now and it will be a bit tougher next year as they all want to hunt the same area as I did. As was probably the case with you as was in CO. were we hunt, dry and fairly warm with no weather up high to push them down. Alredy making plans for next year and cann't wait for it to get hear. Should score a either sex tag next season. Oh by the way, that is a good looking wall tent! LOL. |

Sorry to hear that things did not go as well for everyone on camp H2O. I assume that you are like me, and just about everyone on these forums, in that any day on the mountains is a good day and a day where you come home with a sore back and aching legs from packing an elk out is an absolutely fantastic day. I did not get out for elk this year, life seemed to be conspiring against me. I did manage to let the air out of a few pronghorn, a few mulies and a nice Thanksgiving turkey though. Happy Hunting, Jason |

Nice looking bulls. I went out with my buddy to a general area that we could take any elk on our tag. Worked pretty hard the 1st couple days and didn't see anything but deer and moose. Then on the 3rd day I saw an elk running aross an area I had just ranged at 599 yards. The next morning we switched to mainly just sitting and waiting which was just like hunting back home. My buddy took a 3x3 that evening and saw 10 elk, 10 deer and 10 moose. I went into the same area for the next 2 days and on Thursday morning I had a bull walk out and stop broadside and I was able to take him. He is a 4x4 and I was extremely excited to get a chance. |

Boy was it a blast hunting in Wyoming. It was definitely a tough hunt, I don't think I have ever gone 7 days without seeing elk since I started hunting. But that is part of the game. I think I have my wife convinced that it will be ok to return in 2013, so watch out Wyoming. Brandon |

Hiker Good to here from you again! How'd your hunts this past fall go! If you can get back up here in 2013, my camp is open to ya! Sorry I missed hunting with you last time. I'f I had known you were coming, I definitely would have planned my time off differently!
luvtohnt You sir, will always be welcome in my camp! Etheics and passing on what we love to do is something I have always subsribe to. And you truly fit that bill! After hunting one season and knowing you for close to 8 years, I'll attest you are one of the best hunters I have ever hunted with! If luvtohnt is hunting; it's not Wyoming beware, it's 'GAME BEWARE'. Looking forward to 2013, and doing it again!!!

Winter of 2010-11 was pretty tuff on the animals. After the tuff winter, we had a warm and wet spring, a wet summer. Fall ended up being warm a dry. Different weather than I've experianced since moving to Wyoming. Think everyone in camp made the adjustments for where game would be. Ended up being one of my best Elk hunts ever! As JRicchio said; "any day on the mountains is a good day and a day where you come home with a sore back and aching legs from packing an elk out is an absolutely fantastic day" It was a tough hunt, a good hunt, and one that I will aways remeber because I shared it with good friends and family.

H2O, We've been hunting quite a bit but mainly the Mrs. and the children. I have blessed to be mr guide. Lots of fun together and the freezer been full, many things to be thankful for. My older daughter has max. points for WY Wapiti. We've been applying for unit 100 the last couple of years. We both have max points for deer, we applied for unit 119 the other year and didn't draw. We've decided to put the WY deer hunt on hold until they come back in numbers a little better. She's off to college now, so we'll wait until she gets out for her elk hunt, by then she should be able to draw 30, 31 or 100. All of us have speedgoat points built up, so one of these years when we can fit it in we'll try a red desert or similar hunt. My youngest got his hunter safety this year but still not old enough to hunt CO, WY or MT. I'm more than ; likely going to take him and his older brother to another state this fall that he can hunt deer. NE for one has a great youth program and a 10 Year old can hunt deer there. Lots of things on the plate for now. Good to hear from you ole friend. Jeff

Hiker, Good to here from you again, buddy! Totally happy all you hunts went well and ya got a full freezer. Awesome about the points, and good on ya for passing on what we love to do!!! If you, or your young ones, draw the 30, 31, 100 elk tags let me know. I'll scouct and help ya in anyway I can. Know Skud will help too! He and I subsribe to the same, helping other here. As far as Goats; I can help ya in 57, 58. Deer, think you are right! Deer, Elk and Antelope got hit hard last winter. Deer and Antelope real hard in some areas. I saw fewer deer, and nothing I'd shoot this last fall. I think this winter we will have a real good suvrival rate, we'll see what the rest of winter deals us. 2013 should be better. I'm looking at 2014, 2015 before I shift from hunting Elk to hanging that Mulie on my wall. Good hearing from ya, best of luck on all you hunts!
