I am wondering if the following situation may have occured. When a ML is loaded and carried with the barrel pointing down in a vehicle often the bullet will migrate down from the vibration. When fired, without reseating the bullet, your point of aim goes out the window.

Nope, I'm going to dismiss this.  I regularily check for this, typically every morning, plus I've never seen it move, not even ten thousandths.  I know it can happen but never experienced it.

ever hear the term.cold fracture..or lamination..it happens sometimes in all lead bullets..happens when part of the lead cools much faster than other parts..I have had it happen to me..both in casting bullets and casting lead fishing weights (don't matter to much in the weights except for looks) with bullets it creates a weak spot in the bullet along the fracture or lamination..if when shot the bullet seperates at the weak spot or line it could/would throw the POI way off..may not be another one in 3000 rounds..but all it takes is one to blow the shot of a life time...reason I check double triple check every lead bullet and or ball that goes into any of my guns..heck I even check the jacketed ones for flaws dings or eveidence it may be a problem...
