Another vote for ArcheryTalk.com.  You will find the best bang for your buck there.  One thing you will need to consider if you go that route is that if you buy a used bow, you will not have a warranty with it.  Another option would be to purchase a new bow that is last years model.  I bought my Mathews DXT that was leftover from the year before and it was 100 bucks less than it was the year before and was still new.

I do not know if you ever get by the Gainesville Fl area, visit the Bear Archery Museum (now a pro bow shop with a lot of Fred Bear pictures from the 40's. 50's and 60's of Fred and his trophy excursions. I got a Bear Encounter on a military discount, ready to hunt, with whisker biscuit, anti shock damper, tuned and cut to size a dozen Trophy Ridge Blast carbon shaft arrows, quiver and a 5 pin sight for $320 including tax. Bow shoots smooth, fits me best of the 5 or 6 I tried while at the shop. I had a Browning from the late 80's that I finally gave up the ghost. They also had several factory blems and the values were really good too for minor cosmetics.

I have owned a bear bow for many years and ,I like it alot ! My brother has a PSE Hunter Bow and it shoots good but like ,Isaid ,Ilike Bear Bows. You will just have to look around at Bow shops or at basspro shops or dicks sporting goods they have some nice Bows at a realy good price and are very good.. Take your time looking because they cost alot of money for some of them like some of the hoyt Bows..Look for one that fits you and the way you would like to hunt!! Good luck and good hunting..
