Oh, ok. That make me feel a bit better. Thats more of an adjusted for inflation kinda thing, I was afraid you meant an adjusted to reflect the quality/craftsmanship type increase. that would be a lot harder for me to cover. I'm still working on what to delete from my list to make it happen before then though.

I've used everything from 1 of my Bear Razorhed broadheads to a bowie knife!
My favorite is an older gutting knife made by the now out of buisness Calmont Cutlery!
It's what they deemed the Bowhunters version, with a sheath that actually can double as an arm gaurd!
The balade is aprox 2.5" and the handle is just a thicker extension of the blade with rounded edges!
It has a swing over guard that covers the tip and first 1/2" or so of the blade so after you start a hole, you flip the guard in place, and just zip up through the cavity with ease!
It's a bit too light to split the rib cage with though!
My newest favorite is an Outdoor Edge folder that I won at a game dinner, with a guthook type blade!
SUPER sharp, and holds a good edge, and not overlty large.
I also have a great NRA series folder from Benchmade with 3 blades!
1-pointed blade,1-guthook , and 1-skinning type blade !( all aprox 3" )
Well made and nice size!

I probably own 75+ knives and have tried most of them for gutting duty , and always end up back to the same couple of choices!
