opening day of grouse .my bros. dog grabs a porkypine . back to the truck, holding him i look down 50 plus ticks all over him . and all over my dog to . i use advatage and put a little powder on him to sill had tick . toke him home flee and tick bath. still pick a doz. more off his skin. what to do they r unstopable . and mor and more every year.pittssburgh pa i need a salution

good luck, i have some duranon tick repellent that i sprayed my dog with the last couple times we went out and it seemed to work. even some guys i know that put advantix and other such repellents on their dogs are having trouble. i always used frontline but he still got lymes disease. live about an hour north of pitt. and they are just horrible here

There is a collar called Preventic.  Entirelypets.com sells it, great reviews.  I haven't tried it personally, but lots of retriever folks are using it.  Only drawback is it isn't waterproof.

i did just get preventic from my vet.it does say it will work after getting wet.and you can use it with advantix.i have been out twice now ,both times i combed him after the hunt and found tics but i have not found one dug in witch i am very pleased with.hoping i found the ticket
