Hey fellas. i was jsut woudnering how long you leave your cameras in the woods/field before you go and check them... my problem is im hunting right behind my house and i could go cehck them when ever i want. Its only a 5 min walk to 1 camer and a 10 min to the other. i want to go check them everyday, but i dont... iv been checking them like once a week.. every two weeks. is that two often? the deer are already used to human sent as 1 camera in on a farm and the other is only 200 yards off of it.

how long do you guys wait? and how long SHOULD i wait till i check them 1..2...3...4 weeks?

    thanks

Everywhere is different, as you mentioned some areas are where deer are used to human activity. Since I put out bait during the season, I usually check the cameras when I'm putting the corn out, which is about every 10 days or so. I've noticed that I usually get a picture within 5 or 10 minutes of adding corn to the pile, so they aren't disturbed by the 4-wheeler of my scent. I believe they see the 4-wheeler as a dinner bell!!!!!

I personally wait 2 weeks before I check mine. I should probably wait longer but we just got a new farm this past July and everytime I check the camera's it seems like there's a couple new bucks that show up. I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve not wanting to wait till morning to open his presents lol

The biggest problem with trail cameras is that they are like tatoos! Once you get one, you want another, and before you know it you're covered up with 'em!!!!!!!

I usually check mine once a week at least, I'm getting 300 to 500 pics a week per camera on most of my cameras, and I have 9 cameras out. I try to check a few at a time cause I don't have time to go through all those pics at once

I have two trail cameras and I try not to disturb the area for atleast 2 weeks between viewings, sometimes I will wait a full month before checking them. Just depends if I have it focused on a salt/mineral blockor on the edge of a field or overlooking trails.

Pics are nice, but you've blown the thread up with their size.

I check mine anywhere from once a week to twice a week usually when I am filling feeders or checking salt buckets. It doesn't seem to disturb the deer as they seem to be used to people roaming around from time to time. I usually get 100+ pics each time as well. Like rthomas4 said I think anymore when they hear me they know dinner is coming....

I check mine every saturday morning when i go out to go squirel hunting and i get anywhere from 50-200 pictures on them. Some times ill go out on a wednesday to switch my camera from pics to video so i dont use to much battery and memory space with videos.
