Depending on how much you want to spend there are many combinations to go with. I personally just go with 1 part watersoftener salt, 1 part sweet mineral mix, and 1 part mineral 6. With this mixture you can either clear a small 2' diameter area and pour on the ground or like I do since in Indiana I have to remove it 10 days before hunting over that ground I drill a few holes in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket then put the mixture in there. When it rains the water absorbs the minerals and drips on the ground where the deer can get to it. Then when I am ready to hunt all I have to do is collect the buckets from the woods and store until after season then put back out after. If I put it on the ground then I have to dig up all the remaining mix plus some dirt. You can also make blocks from this mix by adding peanut butter, sorghum, and water mixing well and forming into whatever mold you wish. The sky is the limit be creative. Good Luck!!! |

1 part dicalcium phosphate
2 parts trace mineralized salt
Mix only what you need to put out.
work the ground up in a 2 feet by 2 feet.
Pour the mix in and work it in.
Refreshen as needed.

Next time you are a buddy kill and process a deer, dump the bladder into a clean quart jar that has been washed with distilled water. Nothing can beat the real thing!!!!! |

The #1 thing to this is local scents to the area (natural scents) . What works near corn won't work in a pine forest , if you get my drift , plus I'm sure you know about PA. laws on concoctions considered baiting . I've done what rt4 said and that works , but I gut them in the field so I have a bottle that I fill by feeding the end of the pee shooter into and squeeze the bladder . Refrigerate or freeze if not reused right away . |

another great and cheep way to attract deer is to get a jar of peanut butte and nail the lid to a tree about thre feet off the ground, screw the jar on the lid and cut the back of the jar off from it...don't be suprised to find the jar licked compleetly clean! |
