Got a Turkey hunting buddy who lives in Vernon TX. They are covered up with a pig explosion in that area. Most ranchers/farmers let you chase pigs for free. My buddy has killed 20 so far this year and has not been pig hunting---killed while deer hunting! |

http://hogwildhuntingga.com/id4.html This is just outside of Dublin, Ga. We are setting up the first weekend in march for any who are interested. You can still hunt or dog hunt. If your lazy he also has a high fence operation where you can shoot a meat hog or a "trophy". |

I was just wondering if and why they charge to kill hogs in the first place. Every thing I have seen says the hogs are getting way out of hand and they are destroying alot of really good land and crops. If that is the case why are they charging anything to kill off the pests and bring them back under control. |

Same reason camo makers come out with new pattern every year and hunters buy it... |

Latest Greatest always gets us hunters money....I already have this vision, assuming Law passes TX legislature, of hunters lining up for Latest Greatest opportunity----to "hunt" pigs from a helicopter....

Actually, I am quite sure they are already" killing" pigs from helis on infested ranches but a law is being considered that would enable "hunting" from a heli.....called making money instead of spending money.... |

If there wasn't a market for out of state hunters to come South and hunt hogs, then the land owners wouldn't be charging (at least not as much) for the opportunitiesl The biggest problem is that most hunters want to kill big boars, which are practically uneatable. This creates a problem since the pigs grow up and start breeding more. Personally, I'd rather kill a sow or a pig that doesn't weigh over 100-150 lbs., since those are the best eating!!!! |
