You can get the same hunts for $550.00 per person in Tennessee at a couple of different places and here we have a place where for $550.00 you get the same but also one deer as well. These LM hunts are not for the members as much as for publicity. Not a deal in any way, shape, or form. By the way these are hunts that can be found by simply using Google and either using Tenn or Ga and hog hunts as the search. Anybody paying $1400.00 for the hunt the club is pushing obviously is not for the average member but those with plenty of funds. I have yet to see one LM hunt that was not priced over what it is worth. A member can do much better by doing the research and booking their own hunts for a lot less. |

Life Member hunts are created to give Life Members a turn-key opportunity to hunt together. The game is chosen using member polls. Camps are selected based on the hunting experiences of NAHC staff. We look for outfitters that provide fair chase hunts, a good success rate, a comfortable lodge type setting (so Life Members can hang out together when not hunting), tasty meals, over-the-counter or easy draw tags, and reasonably easy travel access. We also look for a fair price. There will always be cheaper hunts, but very few of those will meet the requirements outlined above. Life Member hunts are all about great hunting and great camaraderie. If that is what you are looking for, we hope to see you on a Life Member hunt. We wish you success in whatever hunts you choose to do. PS if the link doesn't work just click on Life Member Hunts under the Member Benefits tab

It boils down to economics plain and simple as a large segment of the LM's cannot afford $1000.00 or more for 3 days hunting. Lower prices mean more participants. |

Not to mention the costs associated with getting to and from an area that isn't in most of our backyards. A $1400.00 dollar hunt, with license, transportation, food, and lodging to get there and back home, could easily cost upwards of $3000-$4000 depending on where the life members live. |

years ago i went on a LM hog hunt. With about 20 hunters there were 2 or 3 hogs taken. It was not worth the money. |

I have been organizing Life Member hunts for 15 years. To the best of my recollection, we have never held a hunt with more than 15 hunters. Most hunts are 8-10 hunters. The TX hog hunt the erusher is referring to was not very successful. I don't remember the number of hogs taken, but erusher's count sounds right. I do remember personally seeing a good boar that I couldn't get a shot at and then missing a coyote. Wish I could blame the outfitter when I miss! A couple of years' prior to that, we had used the same outfitter for a hunt and Life Members killed a bunch of hogs and javelina. For whatever reason the outfitter switched ranches and the hog hunting went south. The 2011 hog hunt is in a different area, with a different outfitter, and has the potential to be very successful. I understand that the hunt is not affordable for many. I would love to offer quality Life Member hunts (see requirements in the beginning of this string) at under $1,000 but they are not that easy to find. If you know of an outfitter that meets Life Member Hunt requirements please have the outfitter send an E-mail to memberbenefits@huntingclub.com. I'll check it out. Note that the majority of Life Members have expressed an interest in Elk, Whitetail, Hogs, and Black Bear, so those are the priority hunts. |

Take the time and the suggestions of those here and visit those sites and Google Tenn or Ga hog hunting and see what you find out. If the Club could do a hunt for the prices these outfitters charge I can only imagine how many would be signing up at least I know I would. A good weekend hunt with a large group of LM's would make for a great magazine article as well as a podcast. The Club could even film it, show it, and then offer the video at a reasonable price so even those who didn't get to attend could get a look at what a LM hunt is really all about and that would be the hunters. So spend a little down time checking these places and outfitters and I bet you can find a deal for next years hunt and have a large turnout of LM's. Lower prices mean MORE PARTICIPANTS, more exposure, good PR, and last but not least the Hunt Video ! |

Why would Wes do that as I was simply replying to the individual who stated he had been organizing these hunts for 15 years ? Anybody can Google the info I gave and see for themselves of what I am talking about. |

Big Dawg, your suggestion was very similar to one I made several months ago, and I never got a reply, much less a reprimand, so I don't think anything will come out of your post. I would hope that HUNTME was just being facetious with his post. It would be nice if the company would listen to, and take the advice of it's contributors, after all, we fund all of those nice hunts that the NAHC employees get to go on, so why don't they listen to our suggestions when it comes to hunts for the guys who pay their way?!!!!! |

I find it particularly interesting that we never have anyone come on here and tell about the great time they had on a Life Member Hunt. |

JJ, I've also noticed that when the mag has an article about the LM hunts, there aren't too many folks in the picture, except for NAHC employees! Has anyone that participates on the forums actually ever gone on a LM hunt? |

Eruscher,I was also on that same LM hog hunt.Nice ranch, good food, good people, had a great time, but not very productive.3,maybe 4 hogs taken total.I remember one was the size of a football with legs.I believe we paid $750 or $799 for that hunt.I would do it again in a heartbeat for that price, but $1400 is a little steep for a hog hunt in my opinion.I do my annual 5 day spring bear hunt for less than that. |

Is there any reason a dozon or so LM can't get together and book a cheaper hog hunt? Do we need the Club to do all the work for us. We have the form, let's use it. I know I would be very interested in a hog hunt in the range of $800. Just an idea. |
