have only bear hunted once, back in '02.  That year we had the same problem, bears not coming to baits.   Too many berries that year, so the bears didn't hit baits till late in the season, at least where we were ( McGregor area).  Have you tried any honey burns?  How is the berry crop this year?  Where are you hunting?

Have any of you ever used the Bear Bombs ?  I hunt in the International Falls area 25. I haven't had a reason to use these bombs but have read some reports both positive and some negatives. Been thinking I should carry some of them just in case.

I am full of ideas (and other stuff related to Angus') so take this for what its worth.  I remember a few years ago there was a story of a bear attacking people's coolers (can't remember where this was) but was specifically targeting coolers with beer.  I have thought since then that beer would be a good thing to pour on a bait station.  Maybe a 6 pack of some cheap stuff.  Maybe even a beer burn would work.  Just thinking with my fingers here.

Any luck up there?  From what I hear on the news somebody is getting bears.  Its all over the news that 2 research bears have been shot.  Fortunately the news stresses that it is not illegal to kill radio collared bears in MN.  But still, emotions are going to run high, as the latest one killed was the brother to Lily, one of Lynn Rogers' research bears.
