    This will be my first season hunting deer in the Louisiana "primative" season, which allows for certain single shot crack barrle rifles, in my case a .444 Marlin cartridge.  Can anyone reccomend a fairly inexpensive scope to go on this rifle?  (H & R Handi)

    I don't want to spend a bunch until I see if I like it or not.

    Check out the new Redfield Revolution scope line.  They are made by Leupold in the USA and you can find one for about $125 in 2x7 power.  They are great scopes and have a lifetime guarantee.  That should be perfect for your needs.

    Nikon Pro Staff 2X-7X would be a good choice also. We had one on my son's 30-06 for a couple of years before upgrading to a Bushnell Elite 4200.
