nice looking plot.if the deer and turkeys don't get fat off this ,than you have some very picky wildlife.if you notice a bare spot in all of those turnips, the deer didn't do it.i needed some to can for the winter months.sorry lol |

Looking good. It's nice when all the hard work is done and you can sit back and watch for awhile. Good luck this hunting season. I'm waiting for some rain so I can plant my last areas, one in rye, the other in Buck Forage Oats and red and white clover. It has dried up here in West Central Michigan and no rain in sight. I almost planted them last week and now I'm glad I waited. |

looking good. going to plant my winter plots in a week or two. The milo I planted was taken over by weeds pretty much at two plots. One still looks good. Going to have to bush hog and spray the other two and till it in and plant again in the spring. |

twerth...that is feed corn I planted...pretty much all that wasn't eaten germinated and the turkey/grackle pulled out the plants and left them lying...any ways until I got angry and threw down the turnips...the plan was to spray a section for weeds and see if the feed corn carried the RR gene...well duh wasn't risking what little I had and now turnips too...so picked one plant and just saturated it....lo and behold it got one yellow stripe a week later then greened up and has grown great...now if I can only get it in the ground in late May not mid July next year...and try a good section and get good ears...any how I will still get a little cover and it cost 7.50 a 50# bag...by the way the deer where eating the corn plants at 2ft and it still keeps growing...Have a great season this year |

I planted peas at the end of July, an the deer have been tearing them up. Even so, I've got peas that are at least three to four feet tall. Some of the smaller deer, and expecially the fawns dissapear when they are in the food plots. It's funny to be sitting on the stand, and see heads pop up out of the peas, look around, flick their ears, and then dissapear once again into the plants. When a deer comes out that is taller than the peas, it's time to study it carefully in order to see if it is a shooter or not. |

First, I sprayed the plots with generic Round-up, waited ten days, disked it all up and sprayed again. Waited another 10 days and re-disked. Then put about 150 lbs. of 10-10-10 per 1/2 acre, and planted the seed. Luckily after about 4 days, we started getting rain, that lasted about 4 weeks. The results are some of the best food plots I've ever had! |

Good lookin food plot there RT, I might have to try that next year. I planted a 15 acre field. Half in Buckwheat and some of it in Japanese millet for ducks and the rest I disked up and sewed in wheat for doves. Had a great dove shoot but everything died cause lack of rain. That was the first time I had that happen and It was quite depressing. |
