Not me Just stating facts! leetrumbull; What we don't need is a trouble maker! I know your new, so I'll cut ya some slack. One mans trouble, is another mans means. Don't think in the ten years I've been posting here that I have ever done anything, but help members! I was like you in the beginning, stick up for the Club. Not now, we are the CLUB! Not the guys ya pay dues to. If this goes away, I'm wrong, and they are the club and we are just members sending them our $s. Dean H2O Elkaholic |

HUNTME You can say what ya want, till the post is deleted, and your banned from the board! Terry, Wasn't pickin on leetrumbull! He's a member, same as you and me, he can travel what ever road or trail he chooses! Hell he might be out here huntin Wapiti one time with you and me? THE NAHC "CLUB", Was a time when ya could frighten us by threatening to do away with the Board, a time when you could ban individual members from postin because they didn't post what the Club wanted to hear! And a time when you pretended to listen, then did what you wanted to anyway. Let us talk, let us make new friends, if we have a problem with the the Club.... Listen! Those voices heard, will only improve our CLUB! Don't let profits, drive away new friends! At one time, before the bulletin board, we were the Club. Then ya started mailing us stuff we didn't want and making us pay ta send it back to ya. I won't get into the Fiedl Test Program here, as I know it is more important to others then me, (I don't subscribe to the service.) My benefit has been meeting other members here, on the Board and sharing hunts! That said: My complaint is; On the board there is no seniority, no record of post we've made since the beginning of this site. No record of when we first logged in. No recognition for those that are long time members! No recognition of those that have posted to the Board since it's beginning! And many of those friends don't post anymore!!! The post they shared with us, are gone. Sad! JMO Dean H2O Elkaholic |

Sorry, Dean, but I must respectfully disagree in regards to your complaints. I don't see any of those things you mention as being vital to my enjoyment here or even really important. If I want recognition, I just try to excel in my job and get a promotion. If recognition in the hunting world was important to me, I would enter some of my animals into the record books. My opinion on the whole post count is available in my signature....all it says to me is who is retired, mobility impaired or needs a hobby. People quit posting for a number of reasons; lose computer access, leave the Club/Company, lose interest or just plain fed-up with the whole deal. Even in a Company, the shareholders get votes, right? I don't think management has any idea what is going on with their organization but am at a loss since we truly have no voice. That part to me is sad. |

This was at one time a great bulletin board for the membership to come visit and maintain contact with a variety of other members,.. many have which have parted due to a plethora of reasons. The main one in my eyes is the continuing revamping of the website that we all use here. Unfortunatly each one of their "upgrades" and their continuing to edit and delete posts made by us the more of us have chosen to leave here. All the cumulitive information that was at one time flourishing has vanished as well. There were so many posts by plenty of seasoned hunters that were lost during each one of their upgrades,.. reams of good information for any new hunter who had decided to join this membership have been deleted or unable to be transformed from the older server to the newer one. It's a shame,..corporation doesn't seem to care,.. the only thing they care about is the recruitment of new members to increase their income,.. and that seems to be ALL they care about.
I know I don't frequent here as often as I once did,.. we've already lost quite a few good people from the past 2 upgrades.

How you doing Terry-7MM Magnum, anybody ever hear from RAY VINCENT IN WINCHESTER,iDAHO LATELY. i LOST HIS PHONE NUMBER Bullrun Well damn,... how've you been Ed ?? Yep,.. Dean's out hunting those wapiti. I received a email from him the other day telling me about the adventures with his archery hunt for them and the real close call he had when he got into them but just couldn't make it happen. I tried sending you a regular email about a week ago and it came back "UNDELIVERABLE" !! What cha' do,... get a new email account and not tell anybody your new email address ??? Please email ME with a current email so I can make the change in my address book. As far as Ray goes,. I just spoke with him on the phone a couple of days ago,.. he's been keeping busy helping out our military veterans, actively working on gifts, projects, (one of which he made and sent to me as a house warming gift for my new residence,... thank again Brother Ray !!) and is also serving as an honor guard for the ones who have given the "Ultimate Sacrifice" for their country. He had his truck in for repairs and just got it back the other day, so he missed out on the Idaho opener for elk but is now on his way up to Bonner's Ferry to hook up with "Captain" who resides in the area to do some hunting with him. He's still commenting on starting up another GT come next fall (2011) Hope all is well with you,..and send me a email !!! |

I do not agree that the number of post should have anything to do with member ranking as I have been a member since 2002 and have 2 posts. I rather spend my time hunting than trying to gain a ranking by being online. That said I do agree that the "Club" is more like a business than a club. Why should I be victimized in my post office box by items that I did not order? Seriously, I do not want books, coins or anything else that I did not order sent to me and I sure as heck do not want to be subjected to a timeline for returning or paying for what I did not want sent to me anyway! The North American Hunt Club should be composed of huting members that have a "CLUB" to share experiences, advice, hunts, comradory and a plan for battling the ever growing extremists that are trying to eliminate hunting and shooting sports in North America! All members should have a voice in the club and all changes and program implementations should be subject to a ballot (online or mail). The member vote should not be able to be vetoed or trumped by any executive or board member. The executives and board members should be tasked with enforcing the direction of the members vote. The executives and board members should be voted into and out of office by the members. Why should I not be able to speak my mind on the forum? Why should I not be able to make a member complaint on the forum? Maybe other members would agree with my complaint or disagree...the "moderators should pass the seemingly member agreeable complaints to the club executives and board members not delete them. I agree with keeping it clean and non-threatening but, opinionated discussion is not a bad thing. We the members should be driving the club after all we have a financial interest in the club. I think that there might be alot more member involvement and maybe more financial indevities if we actually had a club and not a business that thrives on a profit from its members. And IMO is rediculous! Of course it is my opinion...I wrote it! Every post should be taken as opinionated. Anyone taking information as gospel with out verifying credentials or facts should be subject to their own ignorance. Freedom of speach should be inbedded in the club as it is supposed to be a CLUB not an organization dictated by a forum moderator or any executive or board members. If it were not for WE the MEMBERS there would not be a moderator or any organization to the club at all as all the financial resources would dry up.

Stalker,.. I for one am in total agreement with your line of thought,.. BUT,... sadly this organization will never be a "CLUB" in that sense of the word. This IS unfortunately a company, and all of their priorities are set on making $$ and that's about it in a nutshell. The magazines are nice, but as of the last few years they contain more advertising than actual interest reading information. Their idea of winning free gifts in the "Give-a-ways" are mainly a come-on for new clientèle prospects in membership funds. About the only real thing any of us have gotten from our $$ spent in becoming members here are friendships and this website (which by the way I'm a member of plenty of sportsman's websites and they didn't cost me a dime to become a member of) I've been a member since the early 80's and plenty of things have changed here over the years. The original line of thought for the "Club" was lost years ago and has been replaced by schemes to try and bolster profits (IE: unwanted soliciting mailings, new tiers of memberships, etc.) I'm a paid Life member and they have my $$ for it,.. I'm done spending money here,.. and come only to pay a visit to the forums from time to time now to speak with old and new friends who share the passion of hunting. This will NEVER be a CLUB in the way the majority of us interpret a club to be.( IE: a board consisting of people voted into power by the membership, to make decisions on the functions of the club, based on a majority vote of it's membership, etc. ) I REALLY wish it was,.. but in the real scheme of things it is not, and I can't ever foresee it being one in the future. |
