Where at in Missouri? I'm in St Louis, tons of great rabbit hunting in this area. New to this forum, is there a private message function?

Rabbits are slowly making a comeback in the western part of Missouri, they have been scarce for along time. I have found most of them around lake areas and wetlands,
I won't hunt them untill we have a real good freeze because around this area they do have several disease's that can cause problems to us!
I know alot of people say if you cook them good enough there won't be a problem, but I don't trust that because you still gotta clean them and cut them up, why take that chance!

Eastern and central Missouri are full of them. Do well on swampers in the bootheel too. I'll start hunting them on opening day, love young fried rabbit. In the 40 years I've been hunting rabbits (including 10 in Kansas where there is no season), I have never come across any sick rabbits, a few warbles, while disgusting, are not hazardous. Good luck this fall.
