has anyone ever used a tree saddle and how do you like it? it's a harness that you sit in and hang from in a tree instead of using a tree stand. i've only seen it in one hunting video but it seems pretty cool. i thought about trying one but the cheapest one i could find online was $250. i thought that was a little high priced for a cushion and some straps. especially when i've bought climbing tree stands from gander mountain for $100 on sale.  does anyone know where i can find a tree saddle cheaper?

I just bought one off of Ebay with shipping came to just under $180. My friend loves his and has killed several deer out of it. I have shot my bow out of his and in my opinion you will need to shoot out of it for a while before hunting out of it. You use several steps around the tree so you can move around the tree. I was getting tired after a while but I was standing the whole time not leaning against the tree with my knees. I will be getting some more practice in with mine soon. I hunt alot of public land and my good spot has been found and I believe it was because of my climber scaring the tree up, shot 3 deer out of the same tree over a couple years. I am hoping to find the next good area and have it to myself longer by not scaring the tree up and no one finding me. Should be a lot quieter because I am not carrying the climber through the green briers.

    Good Luck

Thanks I'll check eBay. I want one for public land as well. because I've have trouble with theft. I cable and lock my stands to the trees but they bolt cut the locks and steal them.

I never leave my stand in the woods on public land even if I am going to be back in the morning. At most I think I left a strap tree step at the base of my tree. With the saddle you can wear it in and out and it is just like wearing a safety harness. The guy I bought my saddle through is out of Lansing, MI and when I orderred mine he had 3 left. If you cannot find any check the Trophyline website they are back ordered on 2010 saddles but they offered me the same one I ended up with for $150 without shipping. Mine is a 2005 but brand new and was in the original packaging.
