Hello Topgun and JJBull. I get intermittent complaints through PM's about your posts from one another. You aren't doing anything particularly wrong that I would take action on except bugging the heck out of each other. Is there some common ground you can find or just ignore the other person? Would you two really want me to suspend the other person for two weeks because it's likely going to effect yourself as well.

In the end regardless of who started it, who's bugging who, etc. you're both going after each other and have inflammatory posts that irritate the other person so is there some kind of truce that can be reached to benefit yourself as well as other readers?

Here's the choices unless someone comes up with something more creative:

1) TopGun and JJBull continue bickering online with no clear "winner" in the arguments but they do succeed in driving each other nuts and the entertainment value for readers turns to repeat exposure to negativity.

2) TopGun and JJBull both agree to stay out of each others hair and just not post about each other.

3) They both get their wish granted and are both suspended for two weeks knowing that things will probably go back to normal bickering afterwords unless they come up with a solution themselves.

4)?

Sorry to highjack the post Lungbuster! I hope you get the mount worked out and yes, please let us know how it turns out.

I dropped it of Sat. morning and the guy pretty much confesed that the skull plate must have gotten broke and he didn't realize it when he sewed it up.He was going to take it apart and fix it. Said it would probably take 10-14 days to be finished. I'm heading outof town on Sat. for a week or so. Hopefully it will be done when I get home . Will update then.

It's not a big deal... if can be fixed quite easily.

Hmmmm...I'm not sure how he could think it was broke and he didn't realize it, he had to screw it onto the form.

I use to bed it into bondo so it wouldn't twist or break... then I'd secure it to the form.

It was an added step, but I thought it was worth it.

Good luck!~

Admin Wes---I would hope you have read this entire thread and saw how it was going smooth and then the other member in question asked for a scoresheet, which was essentially unsportsmanlike and calling me a liar. Rather than create a problem with that member I simply posted the score sheet and then was lambasted with more unsportsmanlike comments basically questioning my integrity and then calling what I feel was a real trophy a "little antelope". I have asked this member to let me alone and yet he continues to come on every couple weeks and finds something to try and pick a fight with me. In this particular instance another member even came on and told him enough was enough and then that member received less than respectable responses back! I have told this member every time he has started something to please let me alone and I would not make any negative comments to him on the BB or send any PMs to him and I have lived up to that promise.  I hope this is the last of it because I enjoy this BB immensely, as witnessed by the amount of time I'm on here and posting trying to have fun and help others. Even my number of posts brings sarcastic comments from this member and I don't believe the Club has any restrictions on number of posts and, in fact, encourages member participation or the BB would not be here for us!  Thank you for your message and I can assure you that I will not start anything with this member and if he tries to start anything with me in the future I guess I will just have to hit the alert button rather than trying to defend myself and let you handle it.  If that does occur, I am trusting that you will take the appropriate steps to put a stop to it because I certainly do not want to be banned for even one minute for just trying to defend myself.  Thank you!!!

See my PM and I like you too, LOL!!!   The score-sheet was asked for and posted, so I put up!!!  It does seem a little weird that you have only made 8 posts since 9/2/08 with 6 of those asking for members to replace your missing magazines and the other two making derogatory comments to me and the other member on this thread and to all the members who were posting on a thread in the Miscellaneous Forum regarding gay rights---just sayin , but think what you want because it's no skin off my teeth!!!  PS:: Have you ever scored an antelope to make that comment?  Mine was just an unofficial score and that's why the numbers were what they were and not down to the 1/8" with a 1/4" tape like an official measurer would use.  I do know a little bit about scoring even though that is the only animal I have ever put a score to.  Now I wish I had never scored it after this thread that was just for fun and help to the initial poster went to he77 in a handbasket!!!  I probably shouldn't even be making this post, but it's very hard when people that don't even know each other start these kinds of confrontations!

Quick question there JM---If you got my PM and read it, then why did you send me an email under the name "bigdaddymac48" claiming not to be the correct person the PM was sent to? I have not received a PM from you, but do have that email saved in my file and can easily check through the Club to see what the deal is! Seems a little fishy to me! In it you claim to have never hunted antelope, etc. and yet on here you now say you are close to an expert on antelope, LOL! You may want to quit before you say anything else because if you think that saying someone is a cheat, a blowhard, and has a smart mouth and don't think you said anything derogatory you may want to look up the definition of that word in the dictionary. Why can't people just be nice on this BB.  I have saved my PM to you, which was far from impolite, as well as the email you sent to me and my nice one back to you and can easily copy and paste them out on the BB if you want me to!  I doubt that you would care to have me do that though would you?

The thread wasn't hijacked when Topgun posted his pic.  It went back on track within the next post or two.
The thread actually took a negative turn when JJBull asked for the scoresheet.

You say he "asked nice" for the scoresheet?
Not hardly.  If you know their history, you'd realize it was an intentional poke in the ribs by JJBull.  Basically, another antagonistic dig on his part.  He knew what he was doing, and got the reaction he sought.

He's one of a long line of antagonists that polluted this board for a long time.  Antagonists that caused a lot of good members to leave, several of which I know personally.
Because of those who polluted the board, I think some members who have been around a while can be a little defensive and never want to see it get to that point again.

This could obviously result in some rather animated replies, don't ya' think?

Attn Admin Wes:

Please excuse my tardy response.  It seems the only solution would be your number "3"  The 2-week suspension for both TopGun 30-06 and myself is fair and equal to both offending (offensive?) parties.

I await your response.

Sincerely,
jjbull

P.S.:  What happened to the remainder of the thread?  Were there posts deleted?  The last 2 or 3 posts refer to things I can find no reference to.

P.P.S:  I also hope lungbuster gets his mount repaired to his satisfaction.

Ok Admin Wes, here is another solution........ enforce the rules........... This is from paragraph 5 of THE CLUBS tos's:

" You agree not to use any obscene, indecent, or offensive language or to place on The Websites any material that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, or hateful. Further, you may not place on The Websites any material that is encrypted, constitutes junk mail or unauthorized advertising, invades anyone's privacy, or encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any local, state, national or international law or regulation. You agree to use The Websites and Services only for lawful purposes and you acknowledge that your failure to do so may subject you to civil and criminal liability. "

Lungbuster came in here and started a thread for the discussion of his whitetail mount, yet, once again, it was hijacked by other parties to fight (SPAM).

If the rules are not going to be enforced, take em down !

That is a GREAT idea Top! So glad to hear it.......... But does the same hold true for all of the others that you keep getting into arguments with too ?
Shall I list, lol.......

What I mean is if the rules were enforced (evenly), there would not even be a need for this discussion at all now would there.

Also if the rules are only there so that when the admins decide to flex their fingers and delete a post or go after someone that they have finally had enough of, what good are they, the person that is acted against definitely has a reason to be upset, takes TWO to tango, unless the first party is doing ALL of the posting is all I am saying.

Kind of like a cop writing you a ticket, but letting the guy behind you go because he knows him, not very fair is it ?

Think if things keep going this way I may just leave this BB again, talk about a bad representation of the club !
Anyway this really isn't the place for this discussion. Sorry Lungbuster.

N.Y. Lungbuster. What a bummer. I have been through a very similar situation, only it involved three deer, mine, my wife's and son's. The reason we go to the trouble and expense of preserving cetain animals is to relive the experience every time we look at it. Unfortunately the taxidermist adventure is going to be part of that experience. You need to find another taxidermist. He should be a member of your state taxidermy assoc. and a Certified Taxidermist of the National Taxidermy Assoc. He should have experience and compete in state and national taxidermy competition and hopefully have won awards. He should show you his shop and completed work and work in progress. Go to www.michiganoutofdoors.com/outdoor-resources and select Taxidermists. Then click on the Wildlife Reflections Taxidermy and watch the video there. This will give you a good idea what you are looking for. Nice buck and good luck to you this fall.
After reading this thread I feel compelled to add that these trophies are very personal and that scoring them helps in comparing them to what constitutes an exceptional specimen, but in no way can the score reflect the true value of the hunt or make the hunter more than what he is. Time shared afield with family and friends is what it's all about, and when we are blessed with an exceptional animal it can make for those special memories that live on longer than we do. If we happen to be the recipient we should be thankful and humbled. The next morning when we look in the mirror we will be the same person as the morning before. These special animals cannot make us a better person, but they are fully capable of making us worse. Also, we should never try to degrade the value of someone elses trophy. There is much more to trophy value than a score sheet, and only the hunter who takes the animal can know and understand what this value is.
