No, never had that happen. It has happened to me on occasion with other broadheads but I have shot many deer with Rages and never had a problem. |

i've only shot one deer with rage so far and that was definetly not the case. In fact, the entrance hole was ginormous. |

I've shot alot of deer with RAGE, both 2 & 3 blades. Good & bad placement shots and never had a problem. I've had broadside, quartering to, and quartering away hard; shots. I dont no where you can hit a deer & they wont open up. Love em. |

They have opened up every time for me. If you look at the design, I'm not sure it is possible for them to stay closed upon impact. |

They have never done that with me, However if yout using a crossbow and they were closed incorrectly it could happen contact RAGE™ Expandable Broadheads 101 Main Street Superior, Wisconsin 54880 Amy@FieldLogic.com 1-888-779-0092 They should replace it if its is defective |

depending on when you bought the BH. there was a recall. it was around 2007.on the 3 blades only. the blades when closed where rounded off to much. i found a link for you it has a picture to show you the recalled BH. http://www.hunting-fishing-gear.com.../2130.html |

Thanks for all of your help. Someone told a buddy of mine that they only opened half of the time. He must of had some of the ones that they recalled. |

No, never had that happen. It has become standard practice for people to put rubber bands on them to make sure they dont open in mid air. |

1st off are you talking 2 blade or 3 - the 3 blade as a minor flaw - the 3rd blade aligns with the front cut so there is very little clearance to open (3 blades have been recalled) as far as the 2 blade go - I'm sold solid on the (its like throughing an axe at them) harvested my biggest bow last yr with a 2 blade rage at 28 yds quartered and now my hunting partner has switch over to the same blade NOTE: rage broadhead much be kept clean to work correctly as any mechanical blade - I like using snack bags overthem till I'm ready to hunt |

The 3 blade Rages made March - May 2007 were recalled, but not for the reason you are saying. The back edge of the blade that hits the skin to open was rounded as opposed to having a sharper corner to it. Field Logic said they "may not" open. I have been shooting them since they came out and even with that so called bad batch, all of mine have opened, every time. It doesn't matter about one of the blades being aligned with the cut on contact tip, all the blades on a properly tuned set up will deploy a 3 blade rage. |

Yes, I've had one that didn't open. If you look back to the rage vs. bloodrunner topic. I was using a 2 blade.

Yes, I did. She bounded in a half circle out to 42 yards, and stood there. At that point I noticed no blood coming out of her chest. Next arrow, I spined her, and no tracking needed. First shot was good placement, just the blades didn't deploy. |

With the 2 blades I never had a problem with them opening in air. On the back of the blade there's a notch, and it slips in behing the o-ring. I just make sure both blades are seated behind the o-ring. |

NEVER! I shoot the 2 blades. Shot almost a doven deer since changing to rage. Nothing opens up a deer like a rage broad head. The only complaint I heard is that they open up prematurely. If roll the oring every now & then & reseat them you wont have a prob with that. Anything mechanical has to be maintained! |
