I voted for 23 only because you left out the 12 & 13's! Lots of different terrain in 23. |

I only left them out because I have never been in them and am not familar with them. These units are ones that I have been in and around-plus these are open over the counter deer tag units, I have never been drawn before and want to know more about these units any info you have or are willing to share would be appreciated. (terrain, habitats, migrations or any info is awesome.) Or best place to buy maps that information would be helpful also. Thanks for posting. |

I live in Pinedale 3C. I cant think of a single time I've gone out and not come across a deer in this area. I know other units have a lot of game as well. Unit 27 has a large amount of deer that I've seen but none come close to the amount in 3C...JMO |

Unit 10 if you scout Much of the unit has been closed off due to land owners who stop access to public land. Game and Fish have done nothing to fight this land grab. I have taken five 30 plus inch bucks in this area in the past. Most of the area I hunted is off limits today due to no hunting signs blocking checkerboard public land . We need to do something about this. Ron |

Tag in hand, in AZ, I would opt for Coues Deer on the border. Lot of hunters that know the region opt to not hunt the border units due to the danger from drug trafficers. Thus there is less hunting pressure on the game, but increased danger from drug mules and bandits. It's like being in "Indian Country" back in the 1800's. I didn't vote because I think your best chances of filling a tag are on the border, but one has to consider the dangers of the area too. |

Haven't been to 3C but have hunted 6A. Having hunted in AZ for 22 years, I would have to say 6A was the best so far for a new person to the area. It's easy to navigate and relatively easy hiking compared to the high desert areas and rim area. Oh, and there seem to be plenty of muleys. I was hunting elk so take that information for what it's worth. |

I've never hunted 6a before, but know a lot people who have. They've said it's also pretty good unit for deer and of course elk! Unit 7,I've hunted elk for several years and had 2 rifle deer tags in the unit and all ever see are a ton of does, very few bucks! But I think would have to go with units 22 and 23!I also just noticed that this post was back in June of 2010.Oh well!lol That's my 2 cents anyways!lol |
