I grew up in Lawrence on the northeast side of Indy and moved up to MI in 1962. Dad and I used to duck hunt on Sugar Creek and the Blue River down at Camp Atterbury! We had some great times down there and back then you could shoot 5 mallards a day and with lead shot! So you live where good old Fuzzy Zoeller is from! My Dad grew up in Jeffersonville and moved up to Lawrence when he was in his early 20s I think! If you want to see a quick picture of that elk in my avatar, take a look at the thread near the top in the Elk Forum that Bryan (BTR) just brought back up to show the finished mount. He did the taxidermy himself and I think he did a super job.

When I was in the army I did a lot of hunting out west I got to kill a lot of OLKA deer and ducks, the when I was sent ot FT Huachuca AZ I got my first Cooes deer and a bunch of doves I really love dove hunting but ran into many rattlesnakes. |

Hate to see yet another member getting run over instead of us being more sympathetic to a fellow member that really has a point ! Maybe it is just to much to ask, the whole honesty thing I mean............ That and for people to hear a guy totally out before pouncing on him like he is prime rib. Gotta say, if I sold you a car and before you drove it off that lot I yanked the tires off, you would be upset, so why are you not upset when you are promised something that is not delivered. That is not even bad enough but this guy is not complaining about anything that I have not seen the majority of you responding to this very post complain about. Go figure ! |

Geez LS! I don't see anybody being pounced on!!! He kept posting only negative comments and was just basically asked some legitimate questions trying to help him get his money back if that's what he wants, as well as some other positive comments as to how he could get his moneys worth out of his membership if he can't get a refund! Seems like most of the posts were there in his best interest for the most part, even if some didn't seem that way, but he was the one who kept coming back with nothing but more negative comments after help was offered and no answers were given Yes, a lot of us are unhappy with what we feel is now basically just a comeon to get new members and we say so to let new members that post here know they aren't alone. The ads make it seem like you will get products frequently and many will be good ones. We all know that with the greatly increased numbers enrolled in the program that isn't the case! I still don't know how long he's been in the Club, but he's had 2 test products while rt4 has never had one in 20 years and it's been 5 since I've had anything!!! I guess I will just quit answering posts like this one from now on and some other LMs can take it up. Maybe they will do a better job!!! Sorry if I ticked anyone else off by posting on this thread!!! |

$10 says he won't do it... No, seriously (and I can't believe I am typing this ) I have to agree with Top on this one. After reviewing this entire thread again right now, my legitimate helpful hint and question were called sarcasm and I was accused of being in some sort of "clique" Nothing anyone said was gonna make him feel better. I'm gonna throw this out there for what it's worth: When these questions come up, direct the member to the Contact the Club information and drop it. It seems the truth just adds fuel to the fire sometimes. As for the truth, sometimes they "can't handle the truth"!! |

JJ---You could have won a lot more than $10 on that bet because even in the short time you've been on this BB you've got my number, LOL!!! I like your idea and will try to remember it on this topic and a couple similar ones |

Hope this answers some questions about the field testing thing. I got a pocket knife to field test and it sits in a drawer because I have much better pocket knives than the one I got to try. NAHC Field Test Program The Field Test program is one of the North American Hunting Club’s oldest and most popular benefits. Over the years NAHC Members have had the opportunity to test and keep millions of dollars worth of hunting related products. In 2008 alone the Club sent goods valued at $469,000 for members to try out. One of the most frequent questions is “How do I become a field tester?” Every paid member is eligible, but enrollment in the Field Test Program isn’t automatic. Once you’re a member there’s an additional step to take – that’s to fill out a Field Tester Profile. To send out products that Members can actually put to the test in the field, the Club needs to know about your hunting preferences and habits. For example, if you’re exclusively a deer hunter, we don’t want to send you a product that’s only useful in varmint hunting, etc. You can sign up to be a Field Tester by logging into huntingclub.com and clicking on the Gear tab near the top of the page. This will walk you through the process including filing your profile. Because you’re seeing this on-line, you have the opportunity to participate in the Field Test Program in the fastest and most efficient way! Include your e-mail address in your profile and all reports, correspondence can be handled on-line rather than waiting around for old-fashioned snail mail! North American Hunting Club has a dedicated team working with manufacturers to secure new products for field testing, but because this is such a popular benefit, there may be a bit of a wait to receive an item. Field Testers are selected on a first come, first served basis based on the profiles on file. You must be a paid, active member to participate. In no case are Members allowed to test more than once per year. In most cases the product is shipped directly from the manufacturer to the Member. A substantial test period is assigned at the end of which we expect Testers to fill out a report on their experience with the product and send them to NAHC. These reports are compiled and copies of all of them are available to the manufacturer. If a product received a majority of approved reports from NAHC Members, then samples of the reports are selected for publication in North American Hunter magazine and the manufacturer receives the NAHC Field Test Seal of Approval for use in packaging, advertising, etc.. In the case where a product does not receive a majority of approved reports, the Club notifies the manufacturer, though we do not publish failed products in the magazine. This is to allow the manufacturer to make improvements based on the reports and retest the improved product. This has happened on a number of occasions and the improved products passed with flying colors in retesting. Exactly what product an individual tester will receive is largely up to the luck of the draw when his or her application makes it to the front of the line. Products offered in the Field Test Program range from rifles and optics to deer attractant scents and insect repellant. As you can imagine , it’s easier for us to secure large volumes of deer scents than it is large volumes of rifles and scopes. On average, members get a product valued at the equivalent of their annual dues, and last year nearly 500 members got a product valued at $100 or more. Additionally, once you’ve tested a product in the program, you need to complete another profile to be eligible to test again. This is to make sure that we have the most up to date information to send you a useful product for your next test. There’s one thing for sure – you won’t get to test if you don’t act now, so go to the huntingclub.com home page, log in, and click on the Gear tab to put your profile on file at the Club. Hey guys, I am new to the club and will probably seek your help a lot until I get to know the ropes. Right now I need to know what I'm doing wrong with the "Field testing form"? I keep filling it out and clicking on the submit button but nothing happens. Any help will be appreciated. |

Not that it will do you any good to fill out the form, since hardly anyone ever gets an item to field test, but try clicking on the "contact the club" button at the bottom of this page, and send them a message. If you are lucky, you might actually receive an answer within about 2 to 4 weeks. When you send the message ask them to A) either help you with the online registration, or B) send you the paper form that you can fill out and return. Of course, since you are a newbie, you might actually get a reply, and then you might be one of the few, the lucky few to actually get an item to field test. I hope that isn't the reason you joined, but rather for the magazine and the forum, instead!!!!! Good luck ( you'll need it)! |
