Has anything gotten better, when you apply forthe life time membership or is it still the same ole' stuff going on. Are there still people whining about it or is it better. |

Pretty much the same ole same ole, David. There are always gonna be those that are not gonna be satisfied, just look at the bottom line, do you want to get the magazine and have access to the forums for life at one price instead of having to pay every month. Would advise against doing life membership for the reasons of field test items or give away items. |

I am so glad to hear someone say something about this. I read the BB's and I getting so tired of what I read (I am not happy I want free stuff) and what is a shame its adults that are crying, sounds like children. There is so much you can do with the club like finding out about hunts, video's,magazine, different forum's etc. Not to mention I get offers like the new knive set they have. I did not have to buy it but I wanted a knive collection and they are really nice. I would like to also say that if those people would like for the club to get better they need to get more involved and STOP the crying. |

Deer are just like us, they like the holiday spirits. Come the middle or end of december, the apples that have fallen are somewhat fermented. Crab apples are gret for deer hunting. |

I am a life member since the the 1st of the year! The wisdom I read from most of the hunters here you can not find in any books. I do not post usually, but enjoy reading. Keep posting, and I will chime in every now and then. |

So really, what are the pros/cons for getting a life membership? I enjoy the books and magazines I get from the club and the coins I've gotten so far are pretty neat, but other than that whats the difference? The product testing? Big whoop...I got a free pocket knife shortly after joining the club, thought it was a piece of junk, and put it in a drawer somewhere. I more or less use the boards here and other places as a place to meet new people, trade ideas, and get people to hunt with. The guys in the California section are on the up and up and from what I can tell so far are a great group of guys. |

I have been a life member for many, many years. About a month ago I received an offer to become a "Premium Life Member" at the cost of around an additional $200. I was and am disappointed to say the least. I believe the club is losing money because they didn't plan correctly in the first place and this is just a ploy to get more money. The magazine already doesn't come as often as it did when I first joined which shows loss of club funding. I don't know how one can become a life member years ago and how the club can all of a sudden create a new and different life membership. This club has turned into nothing but a paycheck for a few people with many members paying and have the wool pulled over their eyes. |

RayBoe, are you talking about the Trophy Life Membership? I haven't heard anything about a Premium Life Membership! I get my mags exactly as advertised, and usually on time, unless the regular postal route carrier isn't working that day. If you are experienceing problems with your mags, check you member info on the site, and if that is all correct, hit the "contact the club" button at the bottom of this page, and send them a message. Usually that will get things straightened out. You might have to send more than one message, so don't give up if you don't get an answer within a week. Good luck!!!!!! |

| War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. |

I'm thinking of being a life member myself. Now I'm not in it for the free stuff, but are the life member hunts worth becoming one? |

If you are independently wealthy, and can afford to shell out several thousand dollars to go on those hunts, I quess they are worth it; however, most of us who are LMs are retired or on fixed incomes, and can't afford to participate. That is the reason I have suggested having smaller life member hunts, based on regions ie: NC and SC, Montana and Idaho, just as a few examples. Those hunts in Canada at Anticostia Island, just happen to be Bill Miller's favorite spot to hunt, and we the members pay for him to go there...not quite fair in my opinion!!!!! |

It would be cool if Bill Miller would post his comments/results from those hunts we send him on with our dues. |
