Anybody got any info on this outdoors permit or card I've been hearing about lately? Rumor mill down here in WNY has it that before we can come up north to fish or hunt we need an "outdoors permit" before we can buy a hunting or fishing license. What's the poop?

    Thanks

WAKE UP ONTARIO. When the molsen wears off how bout an answer. Last time up there icefishing when we camein there was a CO waiting. Asked how many we got I said a limit of fifty. He said dump em out and count em for me in a half understandable French accent. Told him you want a count you count them. That ended that real quick as he was above getting fish slime on him. DUMBASSES!

What nobody know the answer or is it you don't like us Americans? We always abide by your rules Too bad same can't be said for your commercial fisherman on Lake Erie who continue to rape the walleys fishery and ignore the border and come into NY and PA waters illegally to rape the fishing on our side of the lake on an almost daily basis. I know I've shot up a fair number of Canadian Pirates.

I see quite a few people have viewed my request. I'm sorry if I come off as an Obnxious American(Ugly American Syndrome). But if anyone has any info on it I'd appreciate any help you can give.

    Hey gutpile

I will give you the imformation that I have.  Some of which you already might know.  But in ontario residents have to have an Outdoors card inorder to buy a hunting or fishing license in which a sticker is put on so say you have a license. Now for residents it is only $6 for the card for 3 years.  Now the rumor that i have heard is now inorder for non- residents to hunt of fish up here to buy a license you have to have a outdoors card.  Now i heard that what they were going to do is when you went to buy your license they were going to give you a "temperary" outdoors card (so a paper version) and then send you the real one in the mail. All for a fee im sure. Now thats about all i know.  Part of this may be wrong buts what I have heard.  I would suggest that you call an ontario service office. They would have the information you need.  I hope this helps.

Ok, first its Molson, not molsen, 2nd yes you did come off rude, but seeing as how you made up for it, here is the info you need. Non-residents 18 years of age and over must purchase a fishing licence. The ministry of natural resources will be introducing a non-resident outdoors card effective January 1, 2009. I don't yet have the fees for 2009, But I can give you the contact info you will need. You should be able to purchase them over the phone or on the internet with a credit card. -Ministry of natural resources 1-800-667-1940 - www.ontario.ca/mnr - www.ontario.ca/fishing That should get you on your way. last bit of advice, never EVER piss of our conservation officers, they have more power than a police officer and love to use it. They can take everything that you brought with you including your truck and boat if they catch you doing something illegal (not that you are, I'm just saying) Be nice to them and they might decide to be nice to you. if you have any more questions, I'll try to answer them for you.

Hunted the road north of Mine Centre just east of Fort Francis and it was a hoot!!! Moose and deer and bear all at the same time, grouse a rabbit open and when we wanted fresh fish went to a local river and caught us a nice walleye dinner with hand cut french fries done over an open fire!!! Mount is salivating just at the thought... Great camp sites on sand ridges but...went to bead one evening after sitting around the fire in our shirt sleeves and awoke to 6 inches of snow?!? The party took a nice moose and 3 deer and missed a nice black bear, he was too fast for the old guy (me?!?) even to get off a shot!?! I am Canadian and the outsoors card is a easy way to get all the licencing BS out of the way and it don't fall apart when it gets wet!!! Have fun, Stay Safe and Happy Trails!!!
