which coins is actually a good question, as smaller coins will make a higher pitch. Based on what I know a squirrel eating sounds like and what I know 2 quarters rubbed together sound like, I would make a bet that it would be a pair of quarters.

i have done it using quarters.. it works 50% of the time

I have done it and found that Quarters works,and 50 cent pieces work great .
