If you ask Jacob Landry, one of the famous Louisiana alligator hunters from the History Channel’s “Swamp People” T.V. show, what his favorite after-the-hunt meal is, he’s likely to answer “boiled mud bugs.” Translation: crawfish!

Alligator hunting isn’t the only way the Landry family pays their bills. Wild crawfish makes for a large portion of their annual income. In the spring, Jacob runs a business to harvest, distribute and sell thousands of pounds of crawfish every day when these delicious crustaceans are “in season.”

Due to their popularity, Jacob and his Dad are now finding new ways to earn money in swamps. CCI Ammunition just signed a deal with them to be spokesmen for their .22 Long Rifle rounds. This is a perfect partnership, because CCI was honestly their ammo of choice, well before they became famous for their alligator-hunting antics and thick Cajun accents. Additionally, because the father-and-son duo are such diehard deer hunters, Wildgame Innovations also inked a money deal for them to help market the company’s easy-to-use scouting cameras.

That’s right, Troy and Jacob are taking advantage of their fame to earn a few bucks ... and who can blame them? But if they ever get sick of being T.V. stars, they can always get jobs cooking crawfish at picnics!

I recently caught up with Jacob and his buddy Drew Guinn from Southern (barbecue sauce) to see how a Cajun crawfish boil is done––and let me tell you, these Southern boys do it right!
