Was That You Or A Bear?

I'm already deep in the bush of Alberta as you read this blog. It was time to put my Hunter's Specialties slate call aside and up the ante. I'm on the hunt for bear and to bring some suspenseful television home to you I'm hunting the bears face to face.

We're going to be luring the bears out of the thick bush with bait, but instead of sitting silently overhead Jeff Downing at True North Outfitters has set up homemade hides of brush within spitting distance of our intended target. I'm hoping to take a bruin with both my TC Triumph muzzleloader and my Mathews Z7 Tactical Extreme since Alberta is a 2-bear province.

In addition to hunting the bears on their terms, we'll be using boats to access hunting areas adding to the adventure. If everything works out I could end up with two episodes; one for "Extreme Pursuits" and one for "North American Hunter-TV."

Stay tuned for my results. Hopefully it won't be obituary form; at least for me, anyway.
