Flooding has certainly grabbed the headlines the last few weeks with everyone through the midsection of the country cringing at the next rain.
It's pouring at my house as I write and the forecast is for a winter storm on the mountain and flooding on the prairie.
Rain is good, but too much can cause problems. The initial problem of flooded homes and displaced homeowners is certainly critical, but you should also think ahead. What is the future for your whitetail hunting property and the surrounding land?
Intense flooding as we are currently experiencing might be causing more damage to your whitetail property than you realize. Flooded timber, fields and roads could displace deer, ruin crops and even destroy access routes.
Regardless if you live down the road or across the country I'd suggest visiting or contacting the appropriate landowner to check the status of the property you hunt. If you wait until the season you might be met with a surprise you can't resolve. If you check now you might be able to make a backup plan.
