Are you tired of hearing about government overspending, government shutdowns and the lack of compromise? You and I have to live within a budget, so why can't the government get that through their thick heads?
Despite the frustration of a government that won't govern itself, there was one ray of hope in this entire mess. Included in the Senate budget bill was authorization to delist wolves once again, thus removing them from the Endangered Species Act authority. This once again would give states the right to manage wolves with plans approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It also stops any further court action to halt hunting of wolves by groups that use the wolf as a poster child to further their causes.
This action would give Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Utah state management over wolves. What about Wyoming? Well the radicals in Wyoming had their own plan that was rejected by the federal government. It said all wolves were considered predators and to be shot on sight except in a trophy area near Yellowstone National Park. Thankfully, a final clause in the action declares that Wyoming's plan was illegally rejected so we may soon have wolf hunting in the Cowboy State.
As I've always stated: I love seeing big predators, but in today's world of fragmented wildlife ecosystems, management is a must for all species to live in balance.
Now let's get back to the bickering of how to spend money the country doesn't have.
