Bridgford’s Ready To Eat sandwich line was originally developed for the U.S. military, which required a product that had a 3-year shelf life and would taste as great on day No. 1,095 as it did on day No. 1. Bridgford Sandwiches weigh 21⁄2-31⁄2 ounces, depending on variety. No refrigeration is required. On average, the sandwiches provide 300 calories and 10-12 grams of protein per serving. www.Bridgford.com

“The package was extremely easy to open and the sandwich was undamaged inside—and the best part was the taste! I had my doubts about the quality of the product, but I was pleasantly surprised when the time came to eat. These are the real deal!”

My local commissary had these sandwiches so I decided to give them a try. Having spent 20 years on active duty I'm pretty used to the "long shelf life" edibles. I purchased the Barbecued Beef and the Meatball sandwiches. The packaging is simple and easy to open. While the sandwiches will fill you up, they tend to be quite dry and their flavor leaves a lot to be desired. In my experience - not worth the money.
