I tested these in .277 110gr with my Ruger M77SS in 270 Win and they were amazing! Hope to chronograph some loads and see what the actual gain in fps is over my typical 130 gr load. Retained weight on recovered bullets shot from max loads was in excess of 95%. Can't wait to try these out on whitetail in the fall!

I too advantage of 1 box for my S&W .270. I shot a TIGHT 1.5" group at 100 yards. On round #6 I was able to shoot down a "pop up" target at 350 yards and was very happy to say the least!!!! I know the price is high, however if you want a tight group and a "sure thing" as in a clean kill at least out to 350 yards, these are the bullets to use!!! AWESOME JOB Barnes!!!!!! TTSX is the Best I have shot in over 5 years. I have EVERYONE I know in Washington State I hunt with using these rounds.

i m just getting in to reloading wish you had more to test but i would love to test this please 556 or 270 or 30-06 or 243 30-30

i use hornaby and would like to use these rounds to compare between the 2 i have a 30-30 and a 25-06

This is all I use in my 308, great expansion and knock down power I hunt in the west and have taken mule deer and elk with my 308 using the ttsx 168 gr, I will not hunt with any other bullet period

I loaded the ttsx 110gr in my bolt action 30/30 and they are very fast we got them to go about 2800fps and had no problems with pressure or anyting. they do very well on every from small game to the nice 5x4 that ,I shot at 425yards last year at wishon lake ca.

i reload my own ammo and barnes ttst's group better than anything out there. i group under 1" and smaller @ 100 yds.

I shoot 25-06 in 100 gr. any body have any feed back on this bullet???
in 25-06? Has anybody done any comparison to other bullets???
Is it good for Deer or Elk???? What is the drop at 150 yds??????

Dont know about the drop in 25-06 but in the 30-06 ,I load these in 110gr - 180gr and there is not much drop intill it is out there about 600-700 yards then ,I see some drop in the bullet.. but will talk to some of my other friends that shoot 25-06s and ask them if they shoot these bullets and if they know what the drop is OK..

I loaded the 168 gr 30 cal in my 300 Winchester with the same powder charge that I normally use for my hornadys.
After chronographing the barnes to the hornady I found that I had to add .5 grains more powder to get the same speed as the hornady due to the longer ogive of the BT design
The accuracy difference was the same at 100 yrds at just under 1/2 inch but the accuracy at 300 was better then the hornady probably because of the higher ballistics but still only by a small amount around a 1/4 inch.
Where the bullet started to shine was at 500 yrds printing almost 1 inch better grouping, and and it just got better the further away the target was.
In my opinion this longer range benefit is beyond most hunters abilitiies and out of the comfort zone since so much more comes into play at longer ranges. Barnes has a great bullet but Im still not sold on the extra cost if it has that much more benefit to the general hunter.

I hand load the Barnes TTSX bullets using the 180 grain for my Browning Bar rifles in 300 Winchester Magnum, and 30-06 Springfield. Both rifles perform 1/4 " M.O.A. at 100 yards consistantly. I've found on recovery that they retain about 95% of their original weight, and they are very capable of smashing right through thick bones and heavy muscle tissue. The Barnes bullets are definitely a "one shot kill" bullet! Never had to track an animal afterward. These are "premium bullets" and they do cost more, but more than well worth the extra cost in my opinion. For those of you who do not reload your own ammo, you can buy this ammunition ready to go.

It always amazes me to see how different people will measure a bullet grouping for extreme spread i just hope some of the stuff i read is a typo

i have loaded barnes heads in the past and they always pass though and hold together.But the high cost isn't worth it.I have yet to see a bullet outperform a Nosler Accubond,even at long range.And I've tried them all in .308,and .284.And made shots past 500 yds
