This is just what I need. My old muzzleloader is very old and I don't know where the bullet is going when I pull the trigger. I'll take the next one.

I bought a CVA back in the '70's. It lasted a long time and I am very sure it is worth it's salt!
Thursday, November 25, 2010 2:40 PM
I've never shot a CVA muzzleloader yet. From commercials it looks like it compares if not out performs the TC muzzleloaders?
Monday, November 29, 2010 9:20 AM
I've had a CVA muzzleloader for a few years now and i love hunting with it. The performance of the gun is great.
Tuesday, November 30, 2010 6:31 AM

I have .50 cal Stag Horn that I paid 130.00 for with a tasco scope new about 10 ago and I can shoot golf balls @ 100 yards with a hornady xtp expander 295 gr. and 100 gr powder 8 out of ten times, the other 2 times is very near I call it shooter error. I think I will have to try the new apex sometime if it shoots as good as what I have now it will be well worth the money.

Awesome gun!
Monday, December 27, 2010 8:03 PM
Ive been hunting with black powder over 20 years. bought my first CVA inline about 7 years ago a hunterbolt magum. Shoot very accurate using a powerbelt bullet with 100 grains. just wish it was simpler loading a cap with out the use of a tool!
Friday, December 31, 2010 12:06 PM
Had a CVA for, let's say, a very very very long time, thirty (+) deer and three bears later, it still pops 'em. Okay so maybe I should get a newer weapon, maybe someday, we'll see.

Friday, February 04, 2011 12:28 PM
Good luck finding one guys. I bought the .45-70 several months ago and it shoots in the same hole at 100 yds with Hornady LEVERevolution ammo! Also bought the .270 and 300 Win Mag., and now looking for the .243 and 35 Whelen barrels, with no luck. BPI and CVA won't answer my emails and retailers say they haven't had any product in a while. The Apex beats H&R on quality and accuracy and beats TC on price, and is equivalent on quality and accuracy, so this is probably the best single-shot rifle you'll never be able to find!

i"ve never had a muzzleloader and never had the oppurtunity to shoot one, i would love to be a tester on this gun.
Sunday, February 20, 2011 9:37 AM
i would have to say the testers are randomly drawn the more members there are .the less chance ur name gets drawn for the good stuff. If ur considering a muzzle loader the cva is a great choice . the internet is a wonderful thing it allows you to read reviews that everyday people write about the hunting equiptment they purchase . if ur in this club for free stuff i would have to say ur in the wrong place this is a chat room that people share their stories about the hunt with the items being reviewed not a room to whine about not being chosen again. read the reviews take it for what its man up be a hunter and purchase ur equiptment to me it is worth the feeling of putting the smack down on a bullwinkle white tail
Monday, February 21, 2011 8:02 PM
I would have to say that the cva is a great gun. Smooth, secure ignition as well as very easy to manage. It is set at a great price depending on where you buy it. Remember, if you go to the "Big Name" stores, you WILL pay the "Big Store's" prices for their name. Get one, YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN!!!!!!!
Monday, February 28, 2011 8:36 PM

its really bad they even bother to put this on here... you cant send firearms thru the mail.. they tell me it will be 6 months to a year b4 i started recieving anything ... they did send me a book, and if i didnt send it back i would be charged for it. if i buy it i will recieve a lil cheap pocket knife worth 19.95, that i can get at the dollar store for 2.99. im highly dissapointed in the whole thing. And i havent seen a magazine yet after 3 months. looks like if ya get a membership you would at least get the most recent magazine
