My experience with the AR platform has been so rewarding that I would never own one of these finicky, underpowered rifles. Even manufactured by a respectable company.

My two places I hunt are covered up in hogs. It is nothing to see 10 to 20 pigs together. Right now my 30-06 Springfield Semi-Auto puts a dent in them, but I only get five shots. That gun looks like you could accurately and quickly lay down many more shots. Wonder what the recoil is on that gun?

Well, assuming you kept it immaculate, it'd do just fine. For the same price you could have a rifle that would be just as accurate and be more reliable. I'd recomend a Springfield M1A. You can get 20-30 round mags for them and they work like champs. If you wanted to spring for a bullpup stock, you can have a rifle as small as an M4 carbine with the legs to reach 1000 yards.

Moral of the story: even though I love the fact that the AR series in civilian hands gives liberals heart failure, every other aspect of these rifles is pathetic at best.

I would love to test this rifle in West Texas Hudspeth County on the several mule deer on my property. I currently hunt them critters with a Browning Boss Stalker in 30-06. My first hunt with a Reminington 7600 was not great, blowing sand/dirt reduce my actions to one shot before cleaning.

I do own a Springfiled M1, which works well, but it is not a "D" model (no scope) and it's real heavy.

Before I drop $1,300 on a rifle I would like to know if this remongton functions well under the terain conditions.

I own the R-15 in the 223 varment and it's awesome, best varment rifle I have. A dream rifle worth every cent.

I hunt here in California for pigs,deer and varmints and this rifle looks like a great longshot rifle to hunt with also in the Marine Corp i was always armed with the M-4 or M-16 and I think these rifles are great combat hunters but I would love to try this rifle with some animals.

I can give you an honest review on how this stacks up against my .300 Win Mag (floating barrel). Especially for long range varmint. (750 yds+)

as much as we shoot the m4 in 5.56 in the military and how well it shoots i would love to test that product on predators we have in this country in western washington.

The AR systems are great guns to use but sometimes you still have the lack of power behind them to put bigger animals down. The AR is what we call a thru and thru. Its magazine fed and can hold up to 30 rounds. The kick (recoil) on the weapon system is about half of what you get from a 270. So its very easy to shoot a 2nd and 3rd targets accurately.

Also they are not really that expensive and run from 750-1400 depending on what you want on it. My favorite out of the AR 15 look is the new 308 that I found at Dicks sporting goods. It runs about 1000.

I have watched several hunting shows testing this rifle and would love to test it out myself. Im an avid predator hunter in Indiana, with tons of farm land and wooded lots, its yote and fox central. I bought the R15 a year ago for coyote hunting, I liked it so much I have bought the R25 in 308, This is an awsome weapons system, I have put cans on bith and this is the waay to go, they reduce felt recoil on the 308 and I don't need hearing protection. If you plan on getting a new hunting/tactial weapon this covers both nicely.

If I had to choose just one item to field test for NAHC it would be this bad boy right here. In fact it is the only thing aside from the .50 cal black powder that I want to field test before I die. They are the two things on my list of items to do before I die. If I spent fifty years in the club and only tested these two firearms I would be completely happy. It would be a life changing event.

As with all my hunting gear, the first test is the most rugged, whether, crossing through salt cedar, or extreme hikes, if a product can keep up with me then it is a quality product that i will continue to use through out my hunting career. If the Remington R-15 is as good as it says it is then i would like to put it through my own test of accuracy as well as strength to endure some of the toughest hunts.

I have a cva 50 cal. with the postal grip stock and i love the way it handles and shoots, last year i kiled two deer over 250 yards. Some say i was lucky

I have a r-15 in the 223 I love to shot it as well as my 12 year old I have had it for a year and it has never failed to fire like it should. I have also ran 30 round clips at the range as fast as I could after break in of course and have never had the gun not do what it was built for. Just remember when you buy bulk ammo that is what you get I now reload my shells and have not had any miss fires like you get with bulk ammo. The r-15 holds a tight group at 200 plus with even a 12 year old shooting. I have shot It at at 5 degrees and have not had any problems. This gun is a 10 for me!

Everyone wants to test this product and that is great. Thes AR platforms are fun guns. But if you are planning on going after elk with it, I wouldnt hold my breathe as far as being able to drop it. It should work fine on deer. Have none of you been in the military?

I have shot my share of AR-15 based weapons; I have never been very impressed with the ones i have shot. I have never shot a .30 Rem before. If it is similar to the .308 round I have a lot of experience with it. Would love to field test it.

I am a hunter in South Carolina with a 7.6, auto ,has a small power scope , which I enjoy,basic hunting up and down fire trails,sitting and using binocs to check out the area. Would be nice to focus in with the R-15 and pull the trigger on one of our BIG horned white tail in the woods.

hi. yes my son and i would like to test this rifle.my son 16yrs old and hunting for big game for about 4yrs.And no luck! he uses a ruger 243 mark2 just to small for long shooting ,i shoot a 7mm rem mag.And done ok.we hunt in california at Fort Hunter Liggett.(hunting in california really sucks)Only good place to hunt,but you have to share the hunting spots with about 300 hunderd hunters with better hunting rifles.If ever hunter see's my son with a buck and the R-15.your sells would go up.thank you.Father waiting for sons first kill...jorge.ruelas40@yahoo.com

No need to say how much I'd like to test this rifle but let's be honest, there's a few hundred of us on here saying how much we'd like to shoot it but only two member tested quotes at the top....

Being an ex-marine I would love to test this weapon as the m-16 A-2 was my weapon of choice similar design makes it enticing.

my dpms 223cal doesnt seem to put a big bore on its hind end as fast as i want it to. would like to try a new caliber with the same format though.

I loved the M-16 which I fired in the Air Force. It was the easiest to handle and carry, Raised sights made aiming easier, and I have never been more accurate with any other weapon. I always wished I had one of my own.

During my 24 years in the military, I fired the M-16 rifle often. I found it to be a comfortable weapon to fire. The raised sights on the carrying handle just felt better to me than the lower sights on my hunting rifle, and I was able to achieve a slightly higher degree of accuracy. The recoil absorption reduced the "kick" significantly, making it easy on the shoulder when firing up to 150 rounds in one session. I am curious to know if the carrying handle is available for the R-15, and if the same recoil suppression system is incorporated.

I would like to test this product but I know I won’t get a chance to because I haven’t gotten anything in almost 2 years and they were cheap $1.00 items that you get to use once. So I spend over $2000.00+ to become a Trophy Life Member and pay for over price books and coins that I didn’t have the money for but figure I would have a better chance of getting something good but I didn’t. So when I said do not send me anymore books and coins I guess they didn’t want to send me anymore field test products because I’m not helping Mr. Miller and his buddies get to go on these great hunts. I join up for the magazine and free test product because I can’t afford these things but was extremely disappoint when all you get is cheap items at least the magazine is really good

I,m Sorry But It Seem,s like my comment Was posted under the name redhawk3 when it should have been under my screen name #redhawk2 I,m a life Member of NAHC but I have served in the 82 ENGR Battalion Brovo 1-2 stationed over in Bamberg Germany I finished my Tour of duty back in January 1979 I got cleared at fort Dix New,Jersey Febuary 1 1980 and I miss my buddys but the way the service is now I,m glad I din,t Make a carreer of it I carried a M16A1 with Granade Louncher and a side arm 45 Auto cause I was a Payroll guard and a assistant Gunner,But my Main MOS was Demo Man But I loved that Black Stick it was right on Target I almost qualified as an Exspirt but was Shy four Points So I qualified as a Marksmen all the way around But I would love to have had That Weapon Here with me to hunt with Lol but the AR-14 would be nice also But I don,t think it would stand up to the M16A1 cause Its Built Diffrent and the A1 is built for all kinds of abuse its not just For fair Weather, But I sure would like to see them tested side by side What do you think. always #redhawk2 Troy,New.York upstate next to Albany,New.York

Hi I wanted to know if the R -15 Rifle is anything like the black stick known as the M-16A1 cause it looks alot like it I loved my M-16A1 when I was in the service of our country but You couldent owen one legally out side the millitary so Ive only hunted with a Shotgun or 30/30 and thats a marlin or winchester lever I like the way theR-15 Rifle looks but im not making enough money to be able to afford any thing like it things are tuff all over but some day I hope to be able to buy a new hunting rifle and bow but for now I have to use what I have and hope it will last me long enough to afford something new Lol well Im going to be going on vacation soon come frieday im heading out for a week of camping and hunting with my nephew and friend whitetail Deer hunting in New.York State southren zoneout in Hosickfalls off rt 66 on his land so wish me luck of course we all need alittle luck lol but just the same good luck to the rest of use,s NAHC Members.Always David - from Troy,New.York upstate New.York

This is the perfect rifle for some like me. I am an Army vet of the 70's and need a good hunting rifle that will stand up to my age and use. I hunt every thing from Black Bear to Rabbits and this would do the trick. Again this would make a perfect field test for the rifle.

I would love to literally drag this weapon through the mud. I hunt in the Texas Hill Country between Leaky and Junction. My stands are only accessable by atv. Because of the rough terrain, my rifle gets a hell of a work out just getting to the stand. In my opinion, it would be an ideal testing location.

I forgot to mention that on my present lease, we have a decent population of audad sheep and some pretty healthy hogs. I'm currently using a Remington 270. But as you might know audads are hearty animals. I would love to test and compare the take down power between the two.
