Since the new site seems to have made everyone disappear, I guess I will start a new topic to find out who is still around.
My name is Dave Palmer and I like to hunt for just about anything legal, but I primarily focus on antelope and small game.October 8, 2013 at 9:05 pm #5913
Hello huntrdave. I’m Husker57. Been a life member better than 20 years. Only second time on the blogs. My family and I love antelope hunting. Getting ready for elk season now, counting down the days. After that heading to Texas for a family pig hunt. We are here in northern Wyoming.October 11, 2013 at 8:09 pm #6159
Any luck with the antelope yet? I have filled 2 of my 3 tags so far and hopefully will fill the third this weekend. I have friends having pretty good luck with the elk here in the Green mountain and Dubois areas so far. Good luck in your area. BTW, I’ve been a lifer since the early eighties.October 13, 2013 at 2:23 pm #6250
No luck on the antelope or elk this weekend. Last time out for antelope so will not fill tags this year. Lots of time left for the elk tags though. Early snow I think kicked most of antelope out of our area. Still had lots of fun and had a great time with my kids and wife. I guess at my age it is more about getting outdoors and seeing animals and being with family. Hope your hunts are successful, with or with the tags being filled!!!!October 14, 2013 at 7:24 pm #6318
Hi guys, my name is Jason and I’m new to this forum thing but figure I’ll give it a try. I am always looking for people to hunt with. I took my 6 year old out this fall for the first time for rabbits and squirrels. We didn’t get anything, but it was a good time anyway. I am looking forward to elk season now, area 7. Anyone else have that area and looking to go out?October 14, 2013 at 8:18 pm #6323
Hello Jason. Getting the youngsters started early is a great idea. My kids were started young and still enjoy hunting to this day. Someday the tables will be reversed, instead of me taking them along on hunting trips they will be taking the old man along. Have not hunted the southeastern part of the state since I was in college. Always hunted west of Laramie for deer, antelope and elk. Good luck with those wiley wapiti.October 16, 2013 at 9:33 pm #7011
Hello Jason, good luck with the elk. Have fun taking the kids out, it’s always a good time. I’ve been taking my grandson out for small game as well and I’ve got to tell you he is hooked. He’s looking forward to hunting big game already and he still has 4 years to wait.November 3, 2013 at 6:29 pm #8375
Hello WY. Good year so far, My boy’s and I have taken elk. Still need an extra cow this month. Got half cut up and are working on the rest this week.November 14, 2013 at 2:45 pm #8996
My name’s Justin and I just moved to Evanston, Wyoming from Idaho. I was too late to get in on any of the big game hunts, but there is always next year (once I’m officially a resident). Anyway, I like to hunt about anything I can, and I have a couple sons who will be old enough to hunt big game next fall.December 2, 2013 at 4:22 pm #9875
New life member here, anyone hunt elk in area 47? Also looking for others to go hunting with.December 5, 2013 at 12:02 pm #10002
Good morning mrobertson75. Just learning about area 47. Been there eight days and found elk 6 of those. My daughter drove up from Colorado last weekend and she got a nice big cow. She was so excited. Not her first but the first one in about three years. It is fun learning and experiencing a new area. Very pretty and really rugged in places. May head down again this weekend. I still have a tag and my son and his girlfriend each have one also. Still a lot of work to do to fill out!
