My son and I shoot Burris Iliminator rifle scopes. We were having a paralax problem with his. They came with a two year warranty. We sent his back, under warranty.
They replaced it with a new one.
Now we have a new one with a two year warranty.

The Burris Iliminator has electronics in it. I am guessing that is why not life time.

I'm with you Tom, your just asking for problems. I adhere to the KISS principle..... Keep It Simple Stupid! Heck, I kept the iron sights on my Mod70 .338WM I use for elk & moose just in case I do something dumb and damage the Leupold.

Ah, my brother use to call me the gadget man. I like the new things. Using this scope I am shooting subpar minute of angle out to 300 yards. Like the commerical says range them and shoot them. Will be going back to South Carolina this fall, looking foward to some long shots down the power lines, hogs and whitetail We are getting ready to go west the following season for free range axis deer and mule deer. Looks like we will be going to Texas for axis and Montana for mule deer. Have started shooting off the sticks, thos will take some practice. Joe |

Off hand question......at what range does "hunting" become target shooting? |

Don't know the answer to that question. I guess only we as hunters can answer it. I was watching a show on tv this morning. 840 yard shot for a very big muley. According to the show they were hunting for three straight days before taking that shot. So in this respect I guess it was hunting.
Would I think about taking that shot. If I could afford the gun and could make the shot, you bet.But until then, I am looking foward to shooting a deer or a pig from 200 to 300 yards. But if they show up at 25 yards they will be just as dead.

They were "hunting" for a long range shot, not hunting the animal...... |
