What a bunch of bull. I find it incredibly revolting that students don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance if they have a "conscientious objection" to it, yet this student gets a failing grade for having a conscientious objection to saying the Mexican Pledge...in a U.S. School! I'm sorry, but if you're an "American" citizen and refuse to say our pledge because you have some sort of objection to it, you can leave for all I care; you're no true American in my book. I applaud this young lady. 

Teacher should be fired and red-flagged in the state to keep her from getting another teacher's job. JMO

I think any student should stand out of respect, just like I stand for another country’s national anthem.

 

However, they should not be required to say the pledge.  I liken it to forced nationalism.

 

Reminds me of 1930’s Germany. How did that work out?

In an American school, I don't give a damn if it's a Spanish, French, Russian, or Chinese class, if the teacher wants to teach the language by having the students say a pledge, it should be the United States Pledge of Allegiance...........it is a denial of freedom and borders on forced treason to force an individual to repeat a pledge to a foreign government!! This teacher should be terminated, and any principal or board member who sides with the teacher should also be terminated and all of them should be not only sued by the student and her parents, but should be criminally charged as co-conspirators for instigating treason!

I just knew that you could finish with better word what I was trying to say.
