Hey Red---Hatfield hunter again---should you ever wish to hunt the BIG deer in Wi, Possibly you could hook up for a ride with my uncle from mass, He generally comes first week of Nov each year, Archery and or crossbow---You would have to put up with about 4 of us old guys in camp along with an outhouse,  Of course you would have your own bed, HH

Welcome Red, sorry to hear about your injurie's but sounds like your on the right track. It really say's something about the way you feel about hunting, to go out injured and all show's just how much it means to you. I too got into a wreck and broke my back, arm and had to get some fancy dental work done too! But that was when I was 18 I'm now 42 and work construction and am very active in the outdoors. I hunt Ohio, West Virginia and sometimes Alabama when I can get down there . Mostly whitetails and turkeys but also some small game when Im not chasing deer. Your story is inspiring to anyone who has been injured and think they can't do what they love due to it. Keep on trucking Red and hope you get back to 100% ASAP .

Hey Hatfield Hunter,

that sounds like it would be so much fun! I'm definitely down for November, and I mean it! I tend to be just like one of the guys anyways lol and it would be awesome to see what there is for deer there instead of just hearing stories about the big ones!

Hello rkramer, thank you for not only the sincere message, it really does mean something especially coming from someone who has experienced similar things. I also had to have dental work done but nothing fancy! i was sitting in the dentist chair with a back brace and neck collar for an hour, i can't imagine it ever going on much longer! I'm glad it never held you back either though, it's definitely easy to let it. West Virginia is my favorite state, I can't wait until I can get down there for deer season to get myself a big one. Thanks again R, it's nice to meet you! don't be a stranger

Red, your bringing back memorie's the dentist chair with a back brace is NO fun I had a great dentist who always kept asking me if I needed a break to get out of the chair, but I just wanted to get it over with! I can kinda look back on my experience and kina smile because it could have been alot worse. I was on a motorcycle and when I went off the road I jut missed a road sign that could have probaly cut me pretty bad if not in half . But just remember our attitude and outlook on life is what we need to move on. And it sound's like you got a good one . Happy hunting Red

Man, you two should have used my dentist!  I had some extensive work done some years ago and was in the chair for quite a long time. Had my headphones on with my music, a mask for the N2O...   He said he'd tap my shoulder if he needed me. Love that gas
I knew what was going on but didn't really care. My knees did leave me a few times but I soon learned when to breathe air vs gas.

Just kidding - glad you both are on the good side of all that crap!

Steve, I may have not been in any pain didn't have any gas but got two shot's of novicane or something like that around each tooth . It equaled 8 shot's total! I didn't feel a thing but my lips felt like they were dragging te floor !

Hey Red what's your favorite area in WV ? It is a beautiful state, for being in eastern part of the country there are some great places to hunt,4 wheel and have a few cold one's with bud's! I alway's have a blast when I get down there. Got a cabin in Ritchie county absolutley love that araea

If it EVER happens again, and lord knows I hope that it doesn't! Ask for N2O! You know what's happening but you really don't care and so you're exTREMELY relaxed and no muscle tension. I had a ton of nov. shots as well.

Definitely Boone county WV. Once I get my settlement money I'm moving there with my chickens and ducks in a remote area in a log cabin and never have to worry about people bothering me again lol. I make some damn good shine and built a big still so that will be my hobby in the middle of the woods lol the problem is I won't be able to get $200 a gallon like I can in nh/vt area
