I always try to come up with faster and quicker methods for my ascending and decending a tree with my summit climber. I would like to share my idea , I tied a nylon elastic band to the toe straps of the platform on my climber. The length of the band would be 12" tie each end of the band to the top of the strap, when you are trying to place your feet in the straps , just reach down and grab the band that will be at a point very easy to grab with out trying to kill yourself  bending saves time and no mother f...... those dam straps in the dark

Huh? It doesn't get any easier than the plastic stirrups?(sp?) The elastic band behind them helps keep your feet secure in the stirrups. It can be pitch black and it's easy to establish your feet in the right position. Do you have a very old summit stand?

I'm very well aware of the stirrups! I choose not to use them I choose not to have them mounted on my platform , I don't want nothing on my platform when the shot comes I won't have to worry about nothing In the way when I have to make a slow spin to make the shot. I have a Summit Revolution

I have the 180. The question was about ease of climbing right? I've never had a problem with getting placement for the shot with the stirrups, and I'm a dedicated bowhunter. Sorry you having issues?

Yep, the old "toe" straps were a pain with the Summit stands. Now with the stirups with my new Summit, I don't have the issues anymore. Good idea though, Neveraware...
