The Department of Homeland Security has started releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants held in local jails in anticipation of automatic budget cuts, in a move one Arizona sheriff called politically motivated -- and dangerous.

 

This is pure unadulterated bull sh*t! As noted, why were they being held instead of shipped back already? Those states should issue shoot to kill authority to all citizens!!!!!!!

They are looking for any reason to release Blamers voting base .

And some of these are criminals who are supposed to be deported, so they get released back into the community.

And of course when one of them goes out and gets drunk and causes an accident that kills or injures someone, or robs or store, or rapes a young girl or participates in any other illegal activity it will be the Republicans fault because they wouldn't march lock stock and barrel to obamas wishes.

Why don't they just load them all in one of those huge cargo planes and fly them for free to Panama. Release them there. They'll know the language and culture there, and will have a long walk back to the U. S. border. Some might just get shot on the way back.

What a joke! This is just asking for trouble on the streets. Does DHS even have authority to release the like that?

Funny thing, we're being faced with all of these "catastrophic" budget cuts, but Obama can send military and humanitarian aid, along with supplying training in an undisclosed foreign country for the Syrian rebels.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano claimed Thursday that she had no part in her department's decision to release low-risk illegal immigrant detainees as a way to deal with looming cuts to the department's budget.

In an interview with ABC News, Napolitano claimed even she was surprised to learn about the release of the prisoners, which drew criticism from many Republican lawmakers.

"Detainee populations and how that is managed back and forth is really handled by career officials in the field," she said.

Napolitano also conceded that the decision was poorly timed, saying she wishes people, herself included, weren't caught by surprise by the announcement.
