I just heard on the news that they're going to vote on it QUICK so like NYS, it will happen before anyone realizes what's happening. Gotta end up at the SCOTUS at some point

Big run on all the gun stores in CT right now. Pickings are slim they're saying.

Excellent question pcrannell - here's their email address - let us know what they say... http://www.aclu.org/general-feedback

You may also write to the ACLU at 125 Broad Street, 18th Floor, New York NY 10004. Or call: 212-549-2500

You've got more chance of hitting the PowerBall tonight. But it'd be an interesting experiment.

I only got the generic response, but, this is interesting. http://www.nraila.org/legislation/federal-legislation/2013/4/aclu-sees-problems-in-schumer-universal-background-check-proposal.aspx
I think we should start calling it "The Umpire State". Lots of bad calls made by people without much vision.

Excellent experiment and I'm actually rather amazed. I sent it to the NYC "News" agencies and asked why this hadn't been on the "news" given the typical ACLU coverage in the media.... I know what their response will be - same as normal - nada - zip - zero.

NYS Sheriff's Assoc. filed a "Friend of the Court" breif in opposition to the SAFE act. http://oneidadispatch.com/articles/...335523.txt

Interesting that the sheriffs pretty much all disagree with the legislators but apparently the State Police don't. See the article I posted about the Dutchess County man being arrested for 9 in the mag.

As I said when I responded to that post, there is more to that story. I don't think it had so much to do with enforcing the SAFE act as it did with targeting that individual. They would have known he was an unlicensed operator. The gun violation was just dumb luck. Dumb on his part for carrying two extra bullets. Luck on the part of the state police that he was an idiot.

He's an idiot. I loved the line: "They're politicians. They run for office, too."

Yeah, and they may actually stand a chance of being re-elected. I hope the h*77 he doesn't.

He probably won't run again, he's too busy thinking about the White House and 2016.  We all know here in NY that is what he's up to.  The governorship is just a springboard.  Plus his daddy got booted out out before he had a chance to run for president..................Andy Boy won't make the same mistake.

Very true... and the scarier part is the nutzoids that put the current screwball in would probably vote for him too.
