Don't know if this is the right place or if anyone cares but I completed a personal project I thought might add to solo hunts.

A while ago someone showed me a camera mount that attached to the scope and it cost almost $100!  As much as I liked the idea, there is no way in hell I am paying even half that!

I thought about the mount in the picture and the camcorder was hanging off to the side, something I did not like.  I could get 1 of those mounts for a smartphone to attach to the scope, but I am not shelling out $ for a smart phone and mount either!

For around $6 ( each ) and an hour of time thinking and working ( total ) I made 2 camera mounts.
I have made 2 other mounts that vary slightly and they cost about $7 bucks total and 90 minutes total time making both.

Hope someone likes the idea and better yet uses it for their own personal enjoyment.

Drilled out the outermost mounting hole and notched the top to fit the camera mounting bolt

What it looks like mounted

This pic should have been 1st!  The high rise see through scope ring I found as part of a $6 set in the bargain bin.

Dont know why it would not work .Just what happens to the camera when the gun is fired .

holly, 4 rounds out of a .300 Win Mag and it held up, but I took my time shooting and I have 2 dead mules in the stock. The extra weight helps on recoil as well. However I do not recommend this with a brand new expensive camera! the hardest part was adjusting the camera to center on the point of impact.
I am thinking about taking this on my 1st and possibly only elk hunt in my life.

I just hope I am not so excited that I forget to turn the cam on and hit record when I get an elk in my sights.
