thanks guys. Seems a bit better - just slow. See the spine specialist this morning - I'm just hoping that I can finally be able to have this brace off long enough to take a shower! Sponge baths take the edge off but it just ain't the same. ;-) Jeff - thanks, but I don't have many needs these days and my wife has the kind of job where she's able to work from home so that helps. And I've certainly had plenty of offers to exercise the Vette! |

Seems you're coming around. Nothing wrong with sponge baths especially if your wife is helping WINK WINK. Take it easy my friend. |

Wife's DOING it... NFW I could even do it.... but I'm REALLY looking forward to running water and real soap and shampoo! H*77, I couldn't do anything anyhow... The Doc cleared me to take the brace off for a shower on a shower chair... we have to work out the mechanics of that.... Said I'll need the brace until the end of April though. Still says no knives... It's one of those: "Hey Doc, it hurts whey I do xyz " Doc: "Well then don't do that..." |

You just might have to learn how to do things differently as I have .But it will work out .As far as the chair in the shower ,you will manage .We did it when the wife had her hips replaced . |

HEY! Sorry I haven't emailed you but along with running into a wall, my system hard drive crashed and the DVDs that I had it backed up on got scratched somehow so I couldn't recover. Lost ALL my email contacts Thanks for asking! I'm doin' ok. Just went to the spine specialist Tuesday for a checkup. He apparently saw his shadow so I have six more weeks of wearing the brace. (Think hard bullet proof vest, front and back) And he has a better track record of being right than that stupid groundhog in PA. ;-) But things could of been one h*77 of a lot worse so I was pretty lucky actually. I went and looked at the place it happened and I now understand what everyone else was saying; "I have no clue how in the world you did that!" The weather in the NE pretty much sux anyhow though so hopefully by May when I'm allowed to start doing chit it'll be nicer. Just awfully boring not being allowed to do much of anything but there are a LOT of people on these forums who are way worse off than I am so while it sounds like I may be *itching, I'm really rather grateful. How are you doin' at your end? Been really wondering how things were going but had no way of contact. Send me an email please so I have it again? smcalvin@verizon.net Thanks for askin' and I hope things are looking up at your end! |

Thanks! I'm doin' ok - 6 weeks to go in the brace and then hopefully I can start getting back to "normal", just gonna take time. Thank heaven at least the weather sux or I'd be goin' beserk! At least with this, I wouldn't be out doing much anyhow.
