I recently saw a Savage 111 30-06. I liked the gray and black laminated stock and it looked nice with the blued barrel. It had an accu-trigger. I have never shot a Savage or a gun with an accu-trigger. I have used a jewell trigger. What do you guys (and gals) think of Savage 111 firearms and the accu-trigger? |

I have a nephew that has a Savage 111 with the accutrigger. I can't remember what caliber his is. I shot a few rounds thru it. That accutrigger was nice. I liked it. It's a nice gun. And, it shot real nice. It was a pretty accurate rifle. If I was in the market to buy another gun. And, the only one they had in the caliber I was looking for was that rifle. I'd buy it in a heart beat. Savages are more reasonably priced than a majority of the other makers. And, its a good gun for the money. |

Savage firearms are well known for their out of box accuracy and it is well deserved. There are other makers who buy and use the Savage barrels in their firearms so that speaks for itself. They also use a barrel nut which is the best way to set headspace which also leads to better accuracy. I would have no problems with buying any of the firerams Savage makes. |

I Recently bought the Savage Model 11 Lightweight Hunter in 260 Remington, haven't shot it much but so far I really like the Accu-Trigger. My rifle has a good trigger pull out of the box and Savage does provide a tool to adjust the trigger and the instructions.

I own a savage in the 111 in 06 with that trigger and I love it .Would not give it up .I thought my Remington was great until i bought the savage .It is a lot lighter than my Remington and shoots just as good if not better . Don't get me wrong I still like my Remington ,but the savage is great .No problems and it is over 5 years old . |

I have 3 Savages with the Accu-Trigger, 22lr single shot kids' rifle, 22-250 varmint rifle and a 30-06 also with the Accu-stock. I love them all and the trigger is great. My grandkids ages 8-13 love to shoot the 22 and do so very well thanks in part to that easy trigger.

Savage is known for accuracy "right on of the box". Pround owner of the 16 FCSS Weather Warrior in .204. Very accurate, very flat shooting cartridge. Predator gun for me. |

Thank you to everyone that commented. I have been trying to decide if I am going to get a 30-06 or a 300 win mag. Since I like the way the Savage felt when I shouldered it and I liked the looks, I will probably just go ahead and buy a 30-06. I really didnt want to get beat up by the 300 win mag. I know shooting a 300 win mag isnt bad when hunting but sighting in and practicing is a bit rough. Especially in teeshirt weather. |

I don't have any experience with the 111 but I'd love to shoot one. Be sure to give a report on it after you've shot it several times. Savage is definitely making good rifles these days. And I don't think you could have made a better choice with the 30-06. Most versatile round there is! |
