Crowd packs heat, city backs down

Council at center of national controversy overturns gun ban

(MYNORTHWEST) — It’s been three weeks since an Oak Harbor city councilmember started a national controversy by trying to kick out a wounded Army veteran who was legally carrying a weapon during a council meeting.

Councilmember Rick Almberg then walked out.

The council was met by 160 people Tuesday night, many who were packing heat.

There were handguns in holsters and rifles slung over shoulders and an unknown number of people concealing their weapons as the Oak Harbor City Council met. Many attended the meeting to show support for veteran Lucas Yonkman who Councilmember Almberg tried to have kicked out of City Hall last month, including Joe Hawkins who openly mocked him. “Mr. Almberg I just want you to know that I have a concealed ham sandwich right here I don’t want you to get up and walk away,” he chuckled.

The elected ... the ones supposed to represent us, are soon going to be in for a rude awakening.

I hope they keep on pushing...
"The BIG Lie" The phrase was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile:[5][6] His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.[7]

The numbers don't lie and according to the numbers there are 2 states that have enough hunters that outnumber most other countries army's. Now take into consideration that this is only 2 of the 50 states and I think you can start to see just how many not just hunters but gun owners we have in ths country. IF and this is the biggest word to have only 2 letters IF WE all stand united the numbers would outnumber ALL military personnel in ALL the world's armies. This is why they are pushing so hard for these new un-needed gun laws and also why they are buying up the most popular caliber ammo. With most gun owners and unters having at least 2 boxes of ammo on hand and then throw in all those who reload and you have enough ammo to go around especially for those like myself who do not own any of the calibers that are being bought up.

Big Dawg You are right on reloading, I'm having a hard time finding certain parts to reload. Like small rifle primers and bullets for the 223. SO I think that not only is there a gun sale but a reloading sale also.

I have to empty my pockets, remove my belt, and walk through a metal detecter just to get into the city building to get a building permit.

It is a "Gun Free Zone" and don't want guns in our court rooms, or city council meetings. We had a guy drive his car through the building a couple years ago.
