Almost time for some Gobblin! There's just enough time between Waterfowl season and Turkey opener to get primed and ready!

Got any good area's for Turkey? I have a few spots I usually check out. Near Cle Elum. Chiliwist and this year my co-worker has private land near coleville that we will be able to hunt.

Had luck last year in Chiliwist (real lucky). Happy Hunting

If you are going to hunt near Colville you're doing it right. We hunt the whole corner of the state. We had two bears in our decoys up near Northport a few years back. They came right in. The smaller cinnamon sniffed one of the decoys then beat it out of there. He left us rolling. Usual winter up there so there should be a normal amount of Toms.

This will be my first year going after turkeys. I'm planning on heading out to the Colville area with my cousins after camping out there last summer. All I know of is the wildlife refuge, are there any other areas recomended? I will treasure any advice and pointers.

The only thing I can tell you is you are in the right area for a start. Get out and scout. You will see a lot of Turkey on private land near the towns. You will also see a LOT of "No Trespassing signs". When I started turkey hunting a hundred years ago or so, We put a lot of miles on the trucks. Still do sometimes.  Don't let the no hunting and trespassing signs stop you from asking. A lot of them are because of the big game hunting with rifles. The area sees a lot of it in the fall. I will be in the area the first two weeks of the season, and a week before to scout.
