Is there a list of specific weapons being banned. I've read through the law a couple times. The idea seems to be to make it vague enough to make any semi-auto illegal at the descetion of the state.
I think we should start calling it "The Umpire State". Lots of bad calls made by people without much vision.

Nothing is being banned except for the bushmaster AR model that was at the shootings. How stupid is that? Basically any semi with "one" so-called assault feature will have to be registered.

OK. "Banned" was a poor choice of words. How about guns that (as stock) will "require registration".

Probably, to get past all of the vague and subjective language currently being used? ALL semi's will require registration. All guns can be modified in some way in "their" eyes, it's only the word "semi" they want to zero-in on. I would rather register all of my semi's now, than be prosecuted over "language" later on? You can count on who will lose that battle, and I don't want to be sitting in jail waiting on these idiots to "correct" the language. I know, what a joke?

The law is so vague and poorly conceived that there are no clear parameters. How is it possible to expect compliance or enforcement of this piece of crap?? A lot of modern shotguns have a compensator built into the barrel. It's an assault weapon? Andrew Cuomo is the same kind of little tin god that his father was. Ignore the will of the people and impose your will on them.

I have an 1100 12 gauge remington with a $380 dollar Hastings cantilever muzzle brake barrel that is now an assault weapon. Dumb asses!

The NY State Police have a site showing the weapons that "need" registering. I don't have it onhand, sorry, but there should be a link on the Troopers' website. Hopefully, this BS will be retracted. Even though the law was "passed," keep up the pressure on your elected state officials and the governor. There has already been one "notice of claim" filed by the New York State Rifle & Pistol Assoc against this law. Sure more to come....

I did find a site after searching through all of the NYS propaganda sites. www.govenor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms-faq   The more I read about this the more idiotic it becomes.

Once again the law abiding, hard working, tax paying residents of NY had it put to them without benefit of vasoline.
