The story doesn't make sense. The guy didn't own either dog, yet both dogs wound up in his pick-up box???

That said, the way that the police handled the situation makes no sense either!!!

Bet that leaves a lasting impression on some kids. Six shoots total for two unarmed dogs, talk about trigger happy.

Just does not make sense to me .A good club would have done it .Our are those cops afraid of dogs .Shots being fired there no way .

It wasn't his truck. According to the story, the truck stopped at the red light and the stray dog jumped into the back and attacked the dog that was already in the truck.

Wonder who is going to pay for all of the bullet and pellet holes in the truck? And obviously Chester, Pa. cops can't shoot any better than NYC cops!!!!!!!!!!

They could have used their taser guns. And they(police) are the ones we need to call when in trouble?

Okay, that makes a little more sense, but I read this in the article.

"It was unclear who the owners were".

I guess it's just incomplete reporting.

Hey them dogs thought it would be safe to fight there since it was in a gun free zone!!!!

What is about Gun Free Zones that makes everybody trigger happy. Where diid all those rounds go anyway. Maybe those Barney's should be limited to one bullet.

But Bloomburg claims that the only people who should carry guns are military and cops. Considering the marksmanship evidenced in the last year or so by so many police departments around the country, it's obvious that he needs to reevaluate his position. Either the cops are lousy shots, or those Glocks have serious issues and should be replaced!!!!!

To be fair, those/the cops we have seen are probiliy pretty good shoots. But there is a differance in shooting paper, or what we concider to be pray animals and someones pet or another human. The mental adversion, not realy wanting to shoot those does effect how you hold and aim, and may actually in some cases cause one to close their eyes, just before or at trigger pull.

I wonder if these officers have ever heard of pepper spray, I know that many places use that anymore because Mace doesn't work on dogs and pepper spray works on dogs as well as people.

A water hose, fire dept, pepper spray, all safer than blowing holes in the pick-up, and bullets passing through it.

heres an idea, why not just let the dogs fight?or maybe drive forward and hit the brakes that would have probly ended the fight.

Didn't this happen near a school? Where did the stray bullets lodge. If a bullet is capable of glancing off water, then they could have ricocheted off the metal of the truck and into the school. (How do we know it didn't happen?).
I agree with yote. Even If the dogs killed each other in the fight, isn't that better than discharging guns near a school?
IMO those "cops" need to spend more time at the firing range and less time at the donut shop.
The dogs were only interested in each other. The "first responders" could have walked up to the dogs and put ONE bullet into each head.
So much for our brave boys in blue.

I know a couple of cops that can shoot a rifle pretty damn well, but I know I'm a better pistol shot than they are..........and I ain't that great these days!!!!!!!
